The New TC Concepts Audi R8 Toxique Exposed

Intoxicating performance and style.

The Audi R8 is one of the most livable “everyday” super cars as it offers comfort, performance, and modern technological styling. Berlin-based tuning company, TC Concepts, is looking to make the Audi R8 4.2 into more of a performance-oriented supercar for special occasions with its Audi R8 “Toxique” tuning program.

The entire exterior of the Audi R8 Toxique has been redesigned with muscular lines, aggressive bodywork, and downforce-inducing spoilers. An aggressive in-house body kit was developed and installed by TC Concepts. The kit widens both the front and rear fenders for a sportier stance. The front receives a new bumper reminiscent of the TT-RS’s with large air intakes and carbon fiber front spoiler. Both of the side blades were replaced when the fenders were extended, and now feature air intakes to help cool the engine and brakes. Each side of the Audi R8 Toxique also wears new carbon fiber side mirrors and tank lids on both sides for a symmetrical appearance. The rear of the 4.2-liter R8 features a large carbon fiber rear spoiler for loads of downforce, a large carbon fiber diffuser with dual exhaust cutouts, and black-grey taillights with LED controls.

In order to fill the larger wheel wells, TC Concepts went with a set of in-house “Toxique Parle” wheels and H&R springs. The concave seven-spoke wheels were installed in a staggered 8.5 x 20 front and 10.5 x 21 rear fitment, with 235/30 ZR20 and 295/25 ZR21 performance tires for added grip. The entire TC Concepts Audi R8 Toxique was then given a set of 30 mm front and 70 mm rear H&R wheel spacers, and a threaded H&R adjustable chassis to finish off the fitment. The stock braking system also received some upgrades and the calipers were powder-coated in racing yellow.

The high-revving, 4.2-liter V-8 engine was tuned by TC Concepts to back up the intimidating looks of the Audi R8 Toxique. The German tuner installed BMC sports air filters, a 165 mm diameter stainless steel exhaust system with flap control, and a software optimization upgrade to the ECU. The result was a total 440 horsepower for the mid-engined super car.

The interior of the TC Concepts Audi R8 Toxique is a blend of sporty carbon fiber and luxurious leather fittings. Each seat was given Bentley Beluga-Nero leather with special stitching, and the A- and B-pillars were given a coat of alcantara. The dashboard, console, trim strips, door handles, speedometer, and visor were all given carbon fiber trims to showcase the sporty nature of the super car. To finish things off, TC Concepts gave the R8 a set of embroidered velour carpets with silver-grey stitching.

The entire TC Concepts Audi R8 Toxique is currently available as a full program for the V-8 powered model. Pricing and availability for the entire kit have not been released.
