Godzilla gets even more Performance with the 2012 Nissan GT-R “Track Pack”

Nissan’s newest track-ready GT-R.

Porsche has their GT3 versions of the 911, BMW has the M3 GTS, and now Nissan is stepping into the race-ready game with their new “Track Pack” for the 2012 Nissan GT-R. The new 2012 Nissan GT-R Track Pack features all of the fun racing goodies that make it a more potent performer on the racetrack while still retaining a level of street-legal sanity.

The goal of the Track Pack GT-R is to reduce lap times with motorsport-oriented upgrades. The most noticeable exterior feature are the six-spoke RAYS lightweight alloy wheels that wear gloss black centers and polished lips. Peeking from behind the wheels are powerful brakes that utilize new cooling ducts integrated into the front and rear. These ducts help to reduce temperatures by up to 100 degrees during track use, thus reducing brake fade.

The 2012 Nissan GT-R Track Pack also equips Godzilla with a precise sport-tuned suspension. The spring rates have been fine-tuned for the racetrack and the dampers can be adjusted for track or street usage.

Even the interior of the 2012 Nissan GT-R Track Pack gets a motorsports makeover. Both of the rear seats were removed to save weight and new front Recaro seats with blue bolsters and high-grip material were installed to hold passengers in place. Nissan also installed a “Track Pack” badge on the center console as a special trim piece.

The Track Pack does not boast a more powerful 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V-6 engine. Output remains at 560 PS (542.46 horsepower) and 466 lb-ft. of torque, enabling the GT-R to accelerate to 60 mph in 2.7 seconds.

The 2012 Nissan GT-R Track Pack is currently available for order, with deliveries beginning in March of 2012 for the UK. The track pack will cost an additional £ 10,000 (+/- 15,600 USD).
