The Forged, Carbon, and Stainless Steel Vorsteiner GTS-V

Vorsteiner GTS-V 1 Series M Coupe

Slicing through air with a thundering growl.

The BMW 1 Series M Coupe has been a blast to drive since it first hit the market, being more of a small, quick, and nimble M car than some of the larger offerings from the performance division. As with all new M models, it had its critics, but Vorsteiner is looking to silence them with the new GTS-V upgrade kit.

The new Vorsteiner GTS-V wears all-new aerodynamic components made from pre-preg carbon fiber to ensure maximum quality and fitment along with an overall low weight and high-strength stability. The front bumper of the 1 Series M Coupe wears a front spoiler lip with integrated brake duct collectors to cool the front brakes, and special UV protective coating. The standard rear bumper on the Vorsteiner GTS-V was fitted with a new diffuser with extended aero fins and dual splitter design for high-speed stability. The new kit is finished off with a new trunk lid that effectively replaces the stock unit and weighs in at only 11.5 lbs. while adding a touch of downforce to the rear axle.

The perfect complement to the lightweight performance and aerodynamic efficiency that the Vorsteiner GTS-V components provide are new forged alloy wheels. Vorsteiner offers their VS-400 lightweight wheels in 20- or 21-inch sizes. Each wheel is made from forged T6-6062 aircraft aluminum alloy that helps to save weight at the wheel hub for even better handling, acceleration, and braking performance while retaining high-strength characteristics.

The twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six also gets a boost from Vorsteiner. A new cat-back exhaust system made from either stainless steel or lightweight titanium can be installed on the Vorsteiner GTS-V to give the 1 Series M Coupe a bit more snarl throughout the rev range. The bolt-on upgrade was also dyno tested and provides a 15 horsepower and 5 lb-ft. of torque increase in output for a total of 350 horsepower and 337 lb-ft. of torque.

Vorsteiner is currently offering all of the components in the GTS-V upgrade program to customers for the BMW 1 Series M Coupe model. Pricing has not been released.
