The Golf has been an incredibly successful and important part of Volkswagen for almost 40 years, combining economy with a fun driving experience. The car has also been an integral part of ABT Sportsline’s history as the German tuning company has been developing products for the car since it was founded in 1991.

“This model range is inextricably linked with our company history,” said Hans-Jürgen Abt, Managing Director of ABT Sportsline. “It has always been important to us that our upgrades make sense from both an ecological and an economical perspective.”

The seventh-generation Volkswagen Golf wears a more aggressive, Teutonic face that’s sleeker and sharper than previous generation models from the German automaker. The modern design of the Golf was emphasized by ABT Sportsline with new bodywork that gives it a more dynamic appearance. The front wears a slimmer front grille, new spoiler lip, and headlight covers that give the hatchback a stern face. Each side of the Golf wears a set of skirts that visually lower the car along with more dynamic mirror covers. The rear is finished off with a rear skirt, a new trunklid insert, and new quad exhaust tips for a more powerful look.

In addition to the visual upgrades, customers can also opt for a range of chassis upgrades from ABT Sportsline for the Golf VII. The factory wheel setup can be upgraded with a new ABT CR or DR lightweight alloy wheels in 18- or 19-inch diameters with corresponding sport tires for better overall performance. A new set of sport suspension springs also helps to lower the overall center of gravity and improve the overall handling dynamics.
