Let’s Get Detailed with the new Porsche 911 GT3 – Video

Taking a look inside the engine, transmission, and chassis.

The new Porsche 911 GT3 is here and has some die-hard Porsche enthusiasts a bit upset at one major part of the sports car: the transmission. Instead of the manual gearbox that’s been a part of the track-day superstar since its inception, Porsche has fitted a revised version of the seven-speed PDK. The new GT3 is designed for performance with its 9,000 RPM engine, nimble chassis, and sport-tuned transmission, even if the latter does ruffle some feathers.

All three of these new components help make the new 911 GT3 faster than ever before. The sprint to 60 mph comes in just 3.3 seconds; top speed is 195 mph, and the high-revving engine pumps out a very impressive 475 horsepower. Plus, there are all sorts of new technologies throughout the drivetrain and chassis that makes conquering the race track even more of a thrill.

We’ll just shut up now and let Porsche show you all the good stuff.
