Watch Sébastien Loeb Test the new Peugeot 208 T16 Pikes Peak

Getting ready for Pikes Peak.

Remember that monster of a race car that Peugeot’s mad scientists built that weighs 1,929 lbs., has 875hp, and can go 0-62 mph in just 1.8 seconds? Well, now it has nine-time WRC Champion, Sébastien Loeb behind the wheel for some testing before the big Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.

Peugeot is looking to set a new record time for the 12.42-mile course with 156 turns, and break the 09:46.164 time set by Rhys Millen in 2012. The 208 T16 Pikes Peak is just the car to do that.

Leob had some pretty good things to say about the car. “Thanks to its aerodynamic downforce and wide tires, its braking is amazing, too. In fact, the 208 package is a combination of the best of several worlds: it’s got the downforce of a Formula 1 car, the wide tires of an endurance racing prototype and a differential, like a WRC car…”

The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb will welcome Mr. Loeb and his mind-boggling Peugeot 208 T16 Pikes Peak for the race on Sunday, June 30th.
