A clubsport racer you can drive to the track and then back home.

The BMW E9X-generation M3 is on its way out the door as the next-generation M3/M4 is waiting to be unveiled, but the team at G-Power has a couple last hurrah’s left for the current sports car. Their latest creation is the G-Power M3 GT2 R that’s designed for the weekend racers who can drive their car to the track, take the checkered flag, and then drive home with a smile on their face.

G-Power M3 GT2 R

At the heart of the M3 GT2 R is a bigger displacement, supercharged V-8 engine built by G-Power that almost doubles the stock output. The German team installed their renowned SKIII “Sporty Drive” supercharger system with an ASA T1-724 centrifugal supercharger that provides a maximum 0.7 BAR (10.15 PSI). The internals were all replaced with higher-strength components such as forged MAHLE pistons, connecting rods, and a crankshaft that increases displacement up to 4.6-liters. The entire cooling system was also revamped so that the oil and water cooling circuits, and intercooler have a larger capacity. Helping to keep backpressure to a minimum is a lightweight titanium exhaust with dual free-flowing 100 cpsi metallic catalytic converters. A complex ECU tune takes into account numerous factors especially engine temperatures to alter output for better reliability and safety on the track or the road.

All the upgrades make the G-Power M3 GT2 R the ultimate street-legal racer. Output is up 300 horsepower and 221 lb-ft. of torque over stock, for a total of 720 horsepower at 8,100 RPM and 516 lb-ft. of torque at 5,900 RPM. This, coupled with the numerous weight-saving measures employed by G-Power allows the M3 GT2 R to accelerate to 62 mph in 3.7 seconds and 124 mph in 9.5 seconds, while top speed is pegged at over 205 mph.

G-Power M3 GT2 R

The G-Power M3 GT2 R is more than just a high-output supercharged engine, it’s packed with a lightweight skin and interior that makes it quicker on its feet. A full GT2 R design body kit with carbon fiber front skirt, front and rear fenders, front lip, multi-piece rear-spoiler, and rear skirt was optimized for downforce, cooling and aerodynamics to ensure maximum performance and reliability. The centerpiece for the body kit is the G-Power carbon fiber hood with Dynamic Venting that vastly improves engine ventilation and reduces temperatures.

Inside, the weight-optimization was kicked into high gear. The factory seats were both replaced with carbon racing buckets that reduce weight by a total of 53 lbs, while the rear bench seating was completely removed. The M3 GT2 R has some comfort, coming from a full leather and alcantara package with orange and blue stitching. To protect occupants, an FIA-spec roll cage surrounds the cockpit. In all, a total of 330 lbs. was removed, bringing the overall curb weight down to less than 3,306 lbs. for better overall performance and dynamics.

G-Power M3 GT2 R

Allowing the G-Power M3 GT2 R to be a complete racer is a tuned and modified chassis. The suspension was upgraded with a set of G-Power Clubsport coilovers that sharpens up handling and a new set of ceramic brakes. The improved stopping power comes from 6-piston, 396 mm rotors up front and 4-piston calipers clamping down on 380 mm rotors at the rear that also aid in reducing weight. Another set of parts that reduce weight are the RS Silverstone forged wheels that measure 20 inches in diameter and wear 245/30 ZR 20 front and 315/25 ZR 20 Michelin Pilot Cup high-performance tires.

The new G-Power BMW M3 GT2 R is the perfect sports car for those looking to race and drive home. The entire upgrade package is available from € 41,650 Euros while the entire car can be purchased for € 195,310 Euros. The engine conversion is priced at € 41,650 Euros, the carbon fiber body kit for € 30,000, and the hood for € 3,600 Euros. G-Power offers the forged wheels and tires for € 12,000 Euros, and the front brakes for € 14,460.50 Euros while the rears are priced at € 11,778 Euros.
