Time for a special edition to celebrate!

The high-speed test track at Nardo is the place to go if you’re looking to set a top speed record. The 12.3-km track offers an elevated roadway that allows cars to be pushed to their limits. It’s also familiar territory for the team at G-Power who has repeatedly set records for having the fastest cars there. Two years ago, G-Power set the record for being the fastest BMW M3 with their 570 horsepower SK II supercharger system with a top speed of 331.1 km/h (206.98 mph).

In the final days of 2013, the G-Power team went back to the Italian test track, this time they were armed with a more powerful M3 V8 SK II CS supercharger system pushing 615 horsepower. Instead of transporting the car in a trailer to the track, G-Power made it a point to drive the car 1,500 miles from their headquarters to Nardo, proudly displaying the reliability and everyday drivability of their conversions.

In the first day of testing, G-Power achieved an impressive 326.2 km/h (202.69 mph) top speed, but they weren’t finished. Two days later, the G-Power BMW M3 C8 SK II CS hit a record-setting 337.6 km/h (209.77 mph) top speed verified by GPS.

To celebrate the feat, G-Power is releasing new special editions of the M3 V8 SK I, SK II, and SK II CS supercharger systems called the “Hurricane 337 Edition”. Only 30 examples will be produced to correlate with the 30th anniversary of the German company.

The new M3 V8 supercharger system utilizes an ASA T1-523 radial supercharger system sucking in air from a high-flow intake with racing filter inside a cast aluminum airbox. A large cast aluminum volumetric intercooler reduces charge air temperatures helping the supercharger produce a maximum 0.5 BAR (7.25 PSI) relative maximum boost pressure. Special carbon fiber trim and a “Hurricane 337 Edition” graphic on the airbox indicate the additional power being produced. The G-Power M3 V8 SK II CS “Hurricane 337 Edition” requires a full titanium exhaust with racing catalytic converters that reduces backpressure and cuts 57.3 lbs. of weight.

The 4.0-liter V-8 engine gets boosted up to 615 horsepower at 8,100 RPM and 439 lb-ft. at 5,900 RPM with the SK II CS “Hurricane 337 Edition”. This enables the M3 to reach 124 mph in only 12.2 seconds and a top speed over 337 km/h (209.77 mph).

The featured silver BMW M3 Coupe is the first customer model to be equipped with the G-Power M3 V8 SK II CS “Hurricane 337 Edition” and was also given a few other goodies. A full G-Power G3M Clubsport coilover system helps sharpen up handing dynamics while 20-inch G-Power Silverstone Diamond wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport tires achieve even greater amounts of grip. Bringing the featured car to a halt is the G-Power braking system with 396 mm front and 380 mm rear discs.

Only 30 examples of the G-Power M3 V8 SK II CS “Hurricane 337 Edition” packages will be produced and that number has dropped to 29 with the aforementioned silver M3. The special edition supercharger system is available for 9,856.78 Euros plus installation while the titanium exhaust required in the SK II CS stage is priced at 4,542.00 Euros plus installation. The optional G-Power GM3 Clubsport suspension is priced at 2,445.00 plus installation and the 20-inch G-Power Silverstone Diamond wheels with Michelin tires are 4,474.00 Euros. The G-Power braking system can be fitted for 8,034.00 Euros up front and 5,634.00 Euros at the rear plus installation.
