Prototypes better watch out.

Porsche is finally back in the prototype class with their new 919 Hybrid LMP1 racer. The new racecar has been in the works for two years and will finally race at the 24 Hours of Le Mans this season.

The new Porsche 919 Hybrid is a rolling test bed of advanced electronics and technology that will trickle down into the rest of the Porsche Motorsport racers and later on, their road-going production models. A 2.0-liter turbocharged V-4 engine churns out about 500 horsepower and is coupled with an electronic motor at the front axle to make it an impressive display in efficient performance.

The new 919 Hybrid will compete in the 2014 World Endurance Championship and we can’t wait for it to hit the asphalt.
