The legend comes to life!
The Ford GT40 was a car that took Europe and the world by surprise by taking home the checkered flag at the 24 Hours of Le Mans during the mid- to late-1960s. This was unheard of at the time for an American manufacturer, and thus a legend was born.
This Ford GT40 MkII speeding around Spa-Francorchamps is able to slug it out with modern supercars thanks to its beefed up four-speed gearbox and its big ‘ol American 7.0-liter V-8 engine. This was the car that took the world by storm with its 1-2-3 finish at the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans, beating the heavyweights at Ferrari.
Still, over 50 years later, the Ford GT40 commands respect and can wipe the floor with the competition.
