Flying Huntsman 105 Defender Pick Up

Room for some junk in the trunk.

Kahn Design has grabbed headlines with their new Flying Huntsman family of coach-built vehicles that exude confidence, opulence, and off-road prowess. Their Flying Huntsman 105 Longnose and 110 WB 6×6 have garnered much attention with their impeccable detail and unique design. Now, the Flying Huntsman 105 Defender Pick Up is joining the family and looking to make another motoring statement.

The new Kahn Design Flying Huntsman 105 Pick Up is based on the 90-inch wheelbase Land Rover Defender that has been heavily modified by adding over 15 inches to the wheelbase, increasing the width by 150 mm, and extending the hood by 400 mm.

The Flying Huntsman 105 Defender Pick Up also boats a number of Kahn Design features. The front and rear fenders have been beefed up and now display the vehicle’s rugged nature through exposed bolt apertures. A new bumper integrates new daytime running lights while new headlamps blaze a trail ahead as they flank the X-Lander grille. Hood and side vents sport mesh stainless steel inserts and side steps make entry and exit easier for passengers. Sitting beneath the boxy, extended fenders are 8.0 x 18 Defend 1945 wheels wearing a matte black finish and contrasting gold stripe.

All four wheels are powered by the 2.2-liter turbodiesel engine connected to a button-operated six-speed automatic transmission. Both the suspension and brakes were completely overhauled for a better ride and overall performance as well by Kahn Design.

The Flying Huntsman 105 Defender Pick Up also brings the luxury. The interior is clad in leather from the two GTB Sports seats to the center console, dashboard, grab handles, door panels, instrument binnacle, headliner, and sun visors. A new Churchill clock sits proudly front-and-center while a new tachometer stares at the driver through the Kahn billet steering wheel. New vented machined aluminum foot pedals provide drivers with a better grip and feel.

The new Flying Huntsman 105 Defender Pick up made its public debut at the Great British Land Rover Show and will be available alongside the 105 Longnose and 110 WB 6×6 concepts for £58 875 + VAT.
