Asserting some serious power.

Not too long ago, G-Power was showing off their BMW X6 M Typhoon upgrade program with all sorts of high-performance, carbon fiber goodies that transformed it into a pure monster. Now, its SUV-sibling is receiving the same treatment with the introduction of the new G-Power BMW X5 M Typhoon (F85).

The same formula for power, performance, and style still applies to the BMW X5 M, although it has more of a classic SUV shape compared to the coupe-like X6. The full G-Power widebody kit is used, sporting a commanding front bumper with massive air intakes and integrated lighting. The new high-flow bumper and intakes work with the carbon fiber Venturi hood that reduces temperature in the engine bay for better performance.

Both front and rear wheel arches on the G-Power BMW X5 M Typhoon have been extended outwards significantly and connected by a pair of side skirts that visually lower the SUV. At the rear, a relatively clean new bumper was fitted that perfectly houses the quad rear tailpipes on either side.

Sitting beneath those massive fenders are G-Power Hurricane RR forged aluminum alloy wheels that offer superb strength and low overall weight, perfect for a high-performance SUV. The wheels can be ordered in three colors with a range of finishes, and customers even have the option of having their signature showcased on each wheel. The 23-inch Hurricane RR wheels measure a massive 23 inches in diameter with the G-Power BMW X5 M Typhoon, and wear 315/25 ZR23 high-performance tires.

Making those wheels rotate is no easy task, but the G-Power BMW X5 M Typhoon comes packed with some serious power. The 4.4-liter, twin-turbocharged V-8 engine was given the G-Power G6M Bi-Turbo conversion that sees both snails get modified housings and a larger and lighter turbine wheel that produces more boost at a faster rate with lower heat. Exhaust is shot through the stainless steel downpipes and out of the lightweight titanium piping that end in four 102-mm outlets. After the G-Power Bi-Tronik 2 V3 ECU tune the Typhoon creates a total of 750 horsepower at 6,500 RPM and 723 lb-ft. of torque from 3,000 to 4,500 RPM. That’s good enough for a top speed that exceeds 186 mph and a quarter-mile time of just 11.5 seconds.
