Exclusive aerodynamics for an important market.

In the early days of Koenigsegg, the desire for fast, customized exotics in the Japanese market was something that helped the Swedish automaker to grow. Today, that’s still the case. On September 5th, Christian and Halldora von Koenigsegg launched three Koenigsegg Agera RSR vehicles in Tokyo for a few lucky Japanese enthusiasts.

Based on the 1,160-horsepower Koenigsegg Agera RS model, the three new Agera RSRs in Japan are a unique and special part of the 25-car model series run. Many of the aerodynamics that were developed and honed with these three models have spread to the rest of the Koenigsegg Agera RS models and draw from the One:1.

“Japan has been an important market for Koenigsegg since the earliest days of the company. It brought us great pleasure to work with our Japanese clients to bring the Agera RSR to life. The cars they have designed add a new dimension to the already exclusive Agera RS series,” said Christian von Koenigsegg, the CEO and founder of Koenigsegg Automotive AB.

From the beginning, Koenigsegg worked with clients to create three Agera RSR models that were to their design and aerodynamic specification, inside and out. Both the interior and exterior was given the Swedish bespoke treatment from the automaker’s craftsmen with eye-catching carbon fiber everywhere.

Each Koenigsegg Agera RSR features unique aerodynamics that are designed to improve overall performance at triple-digit speeds. Instead of the standard bottom-mounted rear spoiler, the new Agera RSRs feature a top-mounted setup that is similar to the One:1 to provide even greater levels of downforce.

In addition to the new rear spoiler, each Koenigsegg Agera RSR also benefits from a new roof-mounted air intake scoop. The school is like the unit found on the One:1, however it has a shorter design on the Agera RSR to allow for the roof to be removed and stored inside the super car. The scoop redirects cool air into the engine bay, which improves the twin-turbocharged V-8’s output at higher speeds.
