Carve up the Corners with the LW M2 by Lightweight Performance!

Lightweight Performance LW M2

Shedding pounds and upping fun.

In the world of high-performance vehicles, the lightweights are the kings of curve-carving fun and excitement. Everything from braking to acceleration and handling get better when you drop pounds and that’s exactly what the team at Lightweight Performance did with the BMW M2 in the new LW M2 program.

The BMW M-DNA already provides the perfect starting point for making a lightweight, track-focused performance car, starting with that lies beneath the hood. The 3.0-liter TwinPower turbocharged inline-six gains a new carbon fiber airbox as well as some software tuning for the ECU. A set of titanium tailpipes with valve control system drops a few pounds while a 300-cell downpipe cuts backpressure. That’s good for a 444 horsepower, 509 lb-ft. of torque output and a 185 mph top speed.

But the real star is the carbon fiber goodies that Lightweight Performance gave their LW M2. A new carbon fiber front spoiler blade, rear wing, and outside mirrors have all been molded after the BMW M4. These components not only add an aggressive tone, but optimize airflow. Lightweight Performance also gave the LW M2 new high-strength black vinyl on the front air intakes and between the taillights on the trunk for a special look.

The pounds were also dropped at both axles thanks to new forged wheels and brakes. Here, new LW forged wheels were installed in a 10.0 x 19 setup at the front and rear with sticky 265/30/19 Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires for loads of grip. New 380 mm front and rear Brembo GT brake discs make stopping even better, especially for those track days. The final touch beneath the bodywork is a new Bilstein Clubsport suspension kit.

Even the interior of the Lightweight Performance LW M2 has the gorgeous woven material strewn about. Carbon performance seats wear grippy alcantara while LW floor mats and an aluminum pedal set decorates beneath the beltline. Many interior panels were replaced with carbon fiber to drive home the dedication to lightweight performance. A new display system was also installed to show off additional information.

The new Lightweight Performance LW M2 is currently available as a complete package or customers can opt for individual upgrades if they so choose.
