TechArt unveils power and aero upgrades for the Porsche Cayenne

Luxury, Power, and Performance.

TechArt has introduced a number of tuning programs for the Porsche Cayenne over the years ranging from simple aerodynamic bodywork to the full-on Magnum. The newest TechArt Cayenne program includes the Aerodynamic Kit I, new wheels, interior styling, and everyone’s favorite – POWER!

All variants of the Porsche Cayenne can be transformed by the TechArt Aerodynamic Kit I. The once sleeker front of the stock Cayenne becomes more in-your-face with a three-piece front spoiler and integrated air ducts to help cool the brakes. Part of the transformation is a new lighting package that integrates the DRLs, turn signals, and parking and side lights into a single housing. The system improves visibility and safety to the Cayenne with a touch of style. Along each side of the Cayenne are sporty side skirts made from polyurethane RIM. At the rear sits a roof spoiler to generate downforce and an apron with integrated diffuser and reflectors. Each taillight can be modified with trim pieces for a different lighting design. Each of the components can be painted body color or outfitted in carbon fiber for a unique look.

To go along with the new Aerodynamic Kit I, the TechArt Porsche Cayenne can be fitted with new wheels ranging in size from 20 to 23 inches in diameter. The Formula and Formula II light alloy wheels can be purchased in 20-, 22-, or 23-inch sizes, while the Formula III forged alloy wheels are available in 21- and 22-inch sizes. The wheels come with a standard set of colors, or can be custom painted in any finish to match or contrast the color of the SUV.

The most exciting aspect of the TechArt conversions is the engine tuning programs. In all, three are available for the Cayenne; one for the diesel and two for the Turbo. The TA 058/D1 kit for the diesel engine adds 40 horsepower and 42 lb-ft. (70Nm) of torque, helping the Cayenne reach 62 mph in 7.2 seconds and 100 mph in 18.9 seconds. For the Cayenne Turbo, the TechArt TA 058/T1 increases output to 560 horsepower and 575 lb-ft. (780 Nm) of torque, rocketing the SUV to 62 mph in 4.4 seconds and to 100 mph in just 9.8 seconds. The latest TechArt engine tuning program for the Turbo will be unveiled at the 2011 IAA in Frankfurt. Named the TA 058/T2, the program will push power over the 600 horsepower mark and 664 lb-ft. (900 Nm) of torque. Customers can also order an exhaust system with sport tailpipes for both engines. Each of the TechArt Techtronic kits do not alter the standard engine electronics and can be activated by the push of a button. Each kit comes with a two-year warranty along with a TechArt engine and transmission warranty.

As with all TechArt programs, the interior of the Porsche Cayenne can be customized to any individual preference with individual leather, stitching, and upholstery combinations. TechArt also offers a host of upgrades such as headrest-mounted screens, rear seat entertainment, bar, console, and storage unit, and driver-oriented trim pieces.

The new TechArt Porsche Cayenne Aerodynamic Kit I and TA 058/T2 power kit will make their debuts at the 2011 IAA in Frankfurt on September 25th. Pricing has not been released.
