G-Power BMW M3 Tornado RS Exposed

The pinnacle of power.

Supercharging is one of the many specialties of G-Power. At the beginning of summer, they supercharged the BMW M3 GTS to create a 635 horsepower track-day monster. And while a 635 horsepower output sounds appealing, it wasn’t enough to satisfy the German tuner. They wanted to build the most powerful BMW M3 in the world, so they developed the G-Power M3 Tornado RS.

The new ultra-high performance M3 Tornado RS is a 700+ horsepower rocket that uses the new SK III “Sporty Drive” supercharger system to churn out otherworldly amounts of power. The system required G-Power to heavily modify the stock 4.0-liter V-8 engine with MAHLE forged pistons, connecting rods, custom-made cooling circuits, and a new crankshaft that increases displacement by 15 percent to 4.6-liters. A new carbon fiber airbox replaces the stock unit and reduces weight by 17.6 lbs. (8 kg) while providing improved airflow.

After the internal engine modifications are made, G-Power installs an ASA T1-723 centrifugal supercharger that is capable of providing the V-8 with 0.5 BAR (7.25 PSI) of boost. To help minimize backpressure, the M3 Tornado RS comes with a complete titanium exhaust system featuring 100 cpsi metallic catalytic converters. The end result of the SK III “Sporty Drive” supercharger system is an astounding 720 horsepower at 8,100 RPM and 516 lb-ft. of torque at 5,900 RPM; a 300 horsepower and 221 lb-ft. improvement over the stock engine. With the added power, the G-Power BMW M3 Tornado RS can sprint to 62 mph in 3.7 seconds, 124 mph in 9.5 seconds, and reach a top speed of over 205 mph.

Due to the tremendous power and performance that the M3 Tornado RS has packed under its hood, G-Power was forced to design an aerodynamic package that could keep the car planted at high speeds. The new “RS” aerodynamics program is made completely out of carbon fiber to keep weight at a minimum. Up front, the package consists of a spoiler and brake cooling ducts. At the rear sits a three-piece spoiler atop a carbon fiber trunk lid. But the most interesting aspect of the kit is the carbon fiber hood. The G-Power Venturi hood uses Dynamic Venting technology to extract hot air from the engine bay for better performance.

The G-Power BMW Tornado RS also benefits from a host of chassis upgrades. A new G-Power Clubsport coilover suspension system helps lower the ride height and provides precise handling dynamics. To bring the high-powered M3 to a stop safely, G-Power installed fade-free ceramic brakes featuring six-piston front calipers with 396 mm rotors and four-piston rear calipers with 380 mm rotors. The package is completed with in-house 20-inch Silverstone Clubsport forged wheels that reduce weight and wear 255/30 ZR 20 front and 295/20 ZR 20 rear Michelin Super Sport tires.

The world’s most powerful BMW M3 is available as an entire car from G-Power. Customers can also order individual G-Power M3 Tornado RS upgrades separately. The SK III supercharger system and engine modification is available for € 35,000 (+/- 47,000 USD) plus VAT and installation in Autenzell, Germany. The carbon fiber front spoiler is priced at € 1,800 (2,400 USD), the carbon trunk lid with spoiler at € 3,300 (+/- 4,400 USD), and the Venturi hood for € 3,600 (+/- 4,800 USD) plus installation.
