Everything is better with carbon fiber.
DMC Tuning Limited will be officially unveiling their newest tuning program for the Ferrari 458 Italia at the 2011 SEMA Show in Las Vegas. The new program isn’t an outrageous transformation like other 458 Italia project cars. Instead, DMC chose to focus more on quality rather than excessiveness to create a good all-around car.
The “Milano” exterior body kit of the DMC Ferrari was manufactured and designed with the utmost quality in mind. Each part is made using CAD and 3D scanning to create a negative mold, which is then used to bake carbon fiber parts in an autoclave oven.
The 458 Italia carbon fiber body kit is made from carbon fiber to reduce overall weight. Inside of the large front air intake sits two carbon fiber wings that redirect air for more efficient cooling. Along each side of the DMC Ferrari are sets of carbon fiber skirts and molded stand-alone carbon fiber mirrors. At the rear of the 458 Italia sits a large rear diffuser that extends beyond the stock apron to ensure optimum aerodynamics.
While the “Milano” body kit works to create additional downforce and add a touch of style, new DMC wheels and tires ensure maximum contact with the road. A staggered set of 9J x 21 front and 12J x 21 rear wheels were installed with VA 255/30 ZR21 front and HA 355/25 ZR22 rear tires.
Behind the driver sits a tuned version of the high-revving 4.5-liter V-8 engine. The DMC Ferrari 458 utilizes a t309 grade stainless steel exhaust system with 4-2-1 headers and a valved muffler. The new exhaust system also reduces weight by 42 lbs. and features new heat shields to prevent performance losses. After some tuning, the 458 Italia produces 610 horsepower and 420 lb-ft. of torque, and can reach a top speed of 205 mph.
The DMC Ferrari 458 Italia with the “Milano” styling kit will make its debut at the SEMA Show on November 1st through 4th at booth No. 48146. Pricing and availability have not been announced.
