Smooth lines, soft curves, and ABT Power.

The Audi A5 has been a large success for the German automaker since it was introduced largely because of its smooth, curvy lines created by designer, Walter de’Silva. Currently, Audi is in the process of updating their entire lineup with minor facelifts to ensure all of the models wear a similar, modern face. One of those cars is the A5, which has received a few minor upgrades including new LED daytime running lights that drastically change the appearance of the car.

In keeping with the updated lineup, ABT Sportsline has unveiled the AS5, an upgrade program for the Audi A5. Similar to the ABT AS4, the new A5 program from ABT Sportsline complements the facelifted body with new wheels, suspension, and, of course, ABT Power.

“For us, it was important to combine this car’s extraordinary design with our ideas and thus to underscore the car’s character,” said Hans-Jürgen Abt. “Its increased performance and its body parts form a unit. If you look at the AS5, you want to take in every inch of its marvellous silhouette, and if you sit in it, all you want is to get it on the road. This coupé is really a power pack.“

One of the first things to be upgraded on the ABT AS5 was the engines. Both the 3.0-liter turbodiesel and 2.0T gasoline engines were tuned by ABT Sportsline to provide drivers with a thrilling ride that matches the redesigned looks. The 3.0-liter diesel engine’s standard 245 horsepower output grows to 300 horsepower after the ABT Sportsline tuning program. For the smaller 2.0T inline-four, output is raised from 211 horsepower to 270 horses. Each engine variant in the ABT AS5 can also be equipped with a new rear muffler with quad exhaust tips for a deeper sound.

The facelifted ABT AS5 sports special body work that gives the coupe a powerful appearance. Up front sits a new sport spoiler that helps improve downforce and complements the sharper LED lighting. Both fenders sport vent inserts to portray power along with new side skirts. The rear of the ABT AS5 rear features a trunk lip spoiler and apron insert with integrated exhaust tips.

The chassis of the Audi A5 was also tuned with the ABT AS5. New sport springs or coilovers can be installed to lower the overall center of gravity for a better stance and improved handling. ABT Sportsline offers 19- and 20-inch CR Silverlight or DR alloy wheels for the Audi A5. To finish things off, the ABT AS5 can be equipped with a powerful sport braking system that utilizes 345 or 380 mm discs to bring the car to a halt.

The ABT Sportsline Audi A5 upgrade program is currently available. Pricing for ABT AS5 upgrades has not been released and individual parts can be purchased separately.

Celebrating 40 years of Audi with more power!

Back in 1972, Audi began producing a compact executive car called the Audi 80. Production for the small executive car spanned four generations until it was replaced by the Audi A4 in 1996. Since then, the A4 has been quite successful around the world. Now entering its 40th year of production, the German automaker has given the Audi A4 B8 a facelift with new LED lighting, revised styling, and updated technology.

ABT Sportsline is one of the companies that are celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Audi 80/A4 range as it is one of the most popular cars to be upgraded and tuned. Their newest creation focuses on the recently facelifted Audi A4 B8 and increases performance in terms of power, handling, and aerodynamics.

“The A4 is an important car for us, too. It always re-defines the premium standard for medium-sized cars,” says Hans-Jürgen Abt. “Our AS4 is definitely state-of-the-art. It combines sportiness and assertiveness.”

With the new ABT AS4, the German tuner provides engine upgrades for the S4, diesel V-6, and 2.0 TFSI variants. The supercharged 3.0-liter V-6 engine used in the Audi S4 gets pushed from 333 horsepower to a whopping 435 horsepower with ABT engine technology. This helps the sedan reach 62 mph in just 4.8 seconds and a top speed of 175 mph. For the 3.0-liter V-6 TDI, output increases to 282 hp and 413 lb-ft. (560 Nm) of torque with ABT Sportsline tuning. The tried and true 2.0 TFSI four-cylinder in the Audi A4 B8 gets a boost from 211 hp to 275 hp with a little ABT Power magic. Each of the engine upgrade programs is endurance tested to ensure maximum reliability for the three engine choices.

In terms of aerodynamics, ABT Sportsline designed a number of exterior upgrades to improve downforce for high speed stability on the Audi A4 B8. After Audi’s mild exterior refresh, the A4 wore a sharper, modern fascia. With this as the starting point, ABT Sportsline designed a front spoiler with precise angles to match the stock styling and improve downforce. The ABT AS4 also features new side skirts that mirror the character line along each door and fender inserts that resemble vents. At the rear sits a new bumper insert that can accommodate the quad-exhaust system and a trunk spoiler to improve downforce at the rear axle.
All of the standard wheels and tires can also be replaced with the ABT AS4. Two choices of wheels are available from ABT Sportsline; the alloy CR Silverlight or alloy DR in 19- or 20-inch sizes. Each option also comes with high-speed sport tires for better grip and handling performance.

The full ABT AS4 upgrade package is currently available for all facelifted Audi A4 B8 models from ABT Sportsline.

The Audi RS3 is an enthusiast’s dream. It has a beautiful turbo-five, Quattro all-wheel drive, ample cargo space, superb handling, and has looks to boot. So, it only made sense that one of the largest VW/Audi tuning companies in the world turned up the heat on the hot hatch.

“A car to which there is even more than meets the eye, and that is quite a feat,” says Hans-Jürgen Abt, CEO of ABT Sportsline. “If you are into understatement you get a car that is simply elegant. It is easy to handle in narrow streets and you can also burn rubber. It was our engineers’ top priority that this car shows a top performance at high speeds, too. If you look at the performance chart, you can see that it is very powerful even near the limit.“

The ABT Audi RS3 taps into the untold amounts of potential packed inside the 2.5-liter turbocharged five-cylinder engine. ABT has developed two different tuning programs with different levels of output for the engine. The first, named “ABT Power,” is capable of producing 420 horsepower; 80 ponies more than the stock unit. The second, “ABT Power S,” involves a new turbocharger and engine management system to bump output to 470 horsepower and 465 lb-ft. of torque while keeping the same fuel economy and emissions as the stock RS3. Both of the ABT packages can be ordered with a twin-pipe stainless steel exhaust system for a more audible five-pot exhaust note.

Instead of designing new spoilers, diffusers, and skirts for the RS3, ABT decided to keep the stock upgrades and focus on light alloy wheels. The ABT RS3 can be fitted with in-house DR, BR and CR wheels in a variety of finishes. The featured wheels for the RS3 are 8.5 x 19 DR wheels with a gunmetal grey finish. All sets of wheels come with high-performance 255/30 R19 front and 225/35 R19 rear tires for improved grip.

The ABT Sportsline Audi RS3 upgrades are currently available from the German tuner. Customers can purchase upgrades individually or as a complete set.

Why do some people buy SUVs when you can have a luxury performance sedan with the same, if not more, cargo space? The new Audi A6 Avant by ABT Sportsline is a perfect example of why a wagon can be more fun and practical than an SUV that compromises space and performance for a big “look at me” design.

The ABT Audi blends the space of a wagon with luxury and ABT performance to create a car that can be taken to the country club or the racetrack. All three engine variants can be tuned so that pressing the throttle is a thrilling experience. The least powerful version of the 3.0 TDI can be bumped from a stock 204 horsepower to a respectable 240. The most powerful stock version of the diesel can be pushed from 245 hp to a potent 300 ponies. The supercharged 3.0 TFSI also receives a similar power increase, going from 300 horsepower to an eye-opening 420 horsepower. This helps the luxury wagon accelerate to 62 mph in just five seconds.

To go along with the improved performance of both diesel and gasoline engines, ABT Sportsline has unveiled new bodywork for the A6 Avant. At the front of the A6 sits a new, more confident front spoiler that attaches to the stock bumper. Along each side of the ABT AS6 are new side skirts and sport wheels ranging from 19 to 21 inches with or without high-performance tires. The rear is finished off with a downforce inducing spoiler and rear skirt with four trapezoidal exhaust pipes.

Customers that need extra storage and aren’t really the SUV-type will be at home in the new ABT Sportsline AS6 Avant. The program can be ordered as a whole or just as individual accessories. Pricing has not been released.

Audi, just like many automakers today, has expanded their range of crossovers and SUVs, the latest of which is the new Q3. The compact SUV is more of a sporty lifestyle vehicle rather than a spacious family hauler. With that in mind, ABT Sportsline concentrated on improving the Q3’s performance.

The new Audi Q3 shares the same basic platform as the Volkswagen Tiguan. Having already tuned the Volkswagen model, ABT was ready to take their performance package to the up market sibling. The ABT Audi Q3 has a more modern and aggressive design. The front features a new grille with sharp vertical lines and a new front skirt with edgy styling. Along each side Audi designers gave the Q3 a “tornado” line to create a dynamic look. To accentuate the tornado lines, ABT has installed new side skirts that conform to the styling. At the rear, a new skirt with integrated exhausts and an aerodynamic wing create a powerful aesthetic and improve high speed stability.

Although it’s considered a compact SUV, ABT upgraded the suspension and wheels to give the Q3 a sportier, car like ride. New ABT suspension springs lower the ride height and provide sharper handling dynamics. The stock wheels can be replaced with new 18 to 20-inch CR or DR light alloy wheels in a turbine design with high-performance tires for added grip.

Audi offers four different engine variants in the Q3 and all have been upgraded for more power by ABT. The 2.0 TSI gasoline engine can be pushed to 210 or 250 horsepower depending on the stock engine variant. The turbodiesel 2.0-liter engines also receive the power treatment. The 140 horsepower engine increases to 170 horses, while the stock 177 horsepower engine is pushed to 195 horsepower. The extra output is achieved by the ABT Power engine technology packs.

The entire ABT Sportsline Audi Q3 is currently available from the German tuner. All of the components are also available for individual order. Pricing has not been released.

The Tiguan is a small SUV based on the Volkswagen Golf platform. The crossover SUV is meant to be compact and still offer fun driving dynamics, but ABT Sportsline thought it wasn’t enough. So, they added a bit more sport to the SUV; after all it is a “Sport” Utility Vehicle for a reason.

ABT Sportsline has focused on giving the crossover SUV more power for all three diesel and gasoline engines in the model line. The goal was to create a Tiguan tuning program that was reliable, provided exiting driving dynamics, and was agile. The 2.0 TDI engines that make 140 or 170 horsepower stock can be cranked up to 170 and 195 horsepower respectively with the ABT Power pack. The small 160 horsepower 1.4 TSI turbocharged gasoline engine gets a 50 horsepower bump with the ABT Power pack for a total of 210 ponies. Currently the ABT team is developing and testing a Power pack for the top-model 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, which is expected to reach 250 horsepower.

To go along with the added power for each of the engines, ABT Sportsline created a sleek and stylish design package without being excessive. “We stand for a confident and classy appearance”, said Hans-Jürgen Abt. The sculpted look of the facelifted Tiguan is accentuated with a clean front grille that removes the stock four bar unit. Both sides of the Tiguan can be fitted with contrasting door strips that create a dynamic appearance without adding bodywork. At the rear ABT has fitted a new wing for additional downforce and a skirt set with integrated mufflers and exhaust tips.

The exterior is completed with a new wheel and tire combination along with a suspension upgrade. The featured wheel is the DR alloy from ABT, although customers do have a selection of rim options that range from 19 to 20 inches in diameter and are fitted with high-performance tires. With the goal of putting the “sport” back in SUV, ABT has installed a set of suspension springs to provide improved handling.

The ABT Sportsline Volkswagen Tiguan tuning package is currently available as an entire kit or individual accessories. Pricing for the sporty crossover SUV has not been released.

The Audi A1 is a fun, nimble, and contemporary two-door hatch. The folks at ABT Sportsline believe that even more excitement can be cranked out of the mini Audi, and have developed a tuning program complete with individual graphics for all of the A1 models.

“Even the series standard version of the car is a lot of fun in particular on winding roads – and it is precisely for this reason that we have focused on providing extra power. The performance improvement increases the car’s agility and fits its driving characteristics perfectly,” expresses General Manager of ABT Sportsline, Hans-Jürgen Abt. “It doesn’t just need to have good throttle response, but the handling has to be right too. You should always look forward to your next trip with the A1.”

Each of the engines offered can be boosted by ABT Audi Power programs. Each of the 1.6-liter TDI engines can be pushed to 110 and 125 horsepower with a simple tune. For the 1.2 TFSI engine, the ABT Power program increases output from the stock 86 horsepower to 115 ponies. ABT also has tuning for the 1.4 TFSI variants, increasing output to either 160 or 210 horsepower. In addition to the engine tuning, customers can also choose to install the ABT double-pipe sports rear muffler for an added growl.

But, just as Hans-Jürgen Abt said, “…the handling has to be right too.” To make the A1 faster through the corners, ABT has developed new suspension springs that tighten the handling up. Handling and style can also be improved with the new ABT Z Titan wheels in either 17- or 18-inch diameters or ABT DR alloy wheels in an 18-inch diameter, complete with sport tires.

ABT has created three different designs for the Audi A1: the Aloha, the Klecks, and the High Voltage. Each styling package has different decals and designs ranging from the Aloha’s Hawaiian flowers to the lightning bolts on the High Voltage. Based on the design décor, the ABT front lip, side skirts, rear spoiler, rear skirt, and rear wing inserts can be finished in brushed aluminum, grass-green, or lavender. Finishing it all off are new ABT floor mats to keep your feet comfy.

The ABT Audi A1 tuning program is currently available and can be configured in Aloha, Klecks, and High Voltage designs. Pricing has not been released.

ABT Sportsline has introduced their newest tuning program for the Audi A7 before the 2011 Geneva Motor Show. The new program consists of subtle aerodynamic upgrades, new wheel and tire combinations, and of course, engine tuning.

The A7 arguably has one of the most unique designs in the Audi lineup, minus the R8. ABT has designed new bodywork to help accentuate the A7’s dynamic form. A new front spoiler has been fitted to create a more aggressive face, while new side skirts lend to a more muscular figure. The rear sports a new skirt with four-pipe exhaust that follows the shape of the rear trunk.

The two V-6 engines offered in the Audi A7 both receive some ABT power. The supercharged 3.0-liter, 300-horse V-6 is pushed to a maximum 410 horsepower output thanks to the ABT Power tuning package. For the 245 horsepower 3.0-liter turbodiesel, two performance programs are available. The basic ABT Power package brings output to 282 horsepower. ABT also takes it even further with the ABT Power S, adding an “in-house” turbocharger upgrade and boosting power to 310 horses and 450 lb-ft. of torque.

Finishing off the program are a number of different light alloy wheel options ranging from 19 to 21 inches in size, each fitted with high-performance tires. The A7 can also be equipped with the ABT level control (AEC) lowering module in order to improve the sedan’s center of gravity.

Pricing for the entire Audi A7 tuning package has not been released. ABT Sportsline also offers individual accessories for the A7. The ABT Sportsline Audi A7 can be seen at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show from March 3rd to the 13th.

Since its debut in 2002, the Touareg has been one of Volkswagen’s most versatile vehicles. The 2.5-ton SUV is capable of handling some of the toughest off-road terrain yet still provides occupants with a comfortable ride and ample storage space. This balance of flexibility, utility, and sport gives the Touareg a certain character, one which ABT Sportsline emphasizes with their latest tuning program for both diesel engines.

One of the main focuses for ABT Sportsline was to give the SUV more sport. “More power wouldn’t hurt with a car as diverse as this, but it was important for us that the tuning suited the characteristics of the Touareg”, explains General Manager Christian Abt. “Since its launch in 2002 the Touareg has been a huge success for us. We have systematically worked on our interpretation of the SUV since then, whereby it is clear, in our opinion, that there should be special emphasis on sport.”

And sport it received. Both diesel engines that are available for the Touareg were modified to produce more horsepower and torque. For the 240 horsepower, 405 lb-ft. 3.0-liter turbodiesel V-6 two power packages are available from ABT Sportsline. The first Touareg tuning program uses a chip tuning program to increase output to 282 horsepower and 428 lb-ft. of torque. The second program for the V-6 includes a new ABT turbocharger and ECU upgrade, which boosts power to 310 horses and 450 lb-ft. of torque. ABT Sportsline also offers a program for the 340 horsepower, 590 lb-ft. 4.2-liter turbodiesel V-8. By just upgrading the ECU, the Bavarian tuner was able push the V-8 to make a mighty 385 horsepower and 642 lb-ft. of torque.

ABT Sportsline also enhances the overall appearance of the Touareg, taking a more subtle approach to create a confident figure. Up front, the Touareg features a new grille that gives the SUV a bolder face while accentuating the powerful lines in the front bumper. The rear wears a new roof spoiler that increases downforce and a new apron that seamlessly integrates the new quad exhaust pipes.

To finish the appearance package, ABT Sportsline offers two sets of unique BR and CR wheels. Both alloy wheels can be ordered in 20- or 22-inch sizes with high-performance tires to handle the added power outputs. Additionally, ABT Volkswagen can also equip the Touareg with an electronic car lowering system for the adaptive air suspension for enhanced handling.

The tuning program for the Volkswagen Touareg can be purchased as a full program or as individual accessories. Pricing and acceleration figures have not been released.
