American muscle cars are automotive icons throughout the world. Big, rear-wheel drive V-8s with roaring straight-line speed are intoxicating, so much so, that GeigerCars, a German tuning company, focuses only on the iron that comes from Detroit. Their latest Camaro SS convertible is for those that just cannot wait for the Camaro ZL1 convertible to go on sale in 2012.

The GeigerCars Camaro SS convertible offers drivers the best of both worlds: a fresh air experience and a roaring V-8 force-fed by a supercharger system. The 6.2-liter V-8 found in the Camaro SS and 2SS convertibles is given a Geiger compressor system and sport exhaust system that pushes output from the stock 426 horsepower all the way up to 560 horsepower at 6,250 RPM and 574 lb-ft. of torque at 4,100 RPM.

As part of the Geiger compressor system, the Camaro SS convertible also gains a number of exterior and chassis upgrades. An aerodynamic kit that includes a front spoiler, side skirts, and a rear diffuser has been installed to create a more aggressive appearance and improve downforce. Special metallic paint or premium paint can be added to give the Camaro a custom look like the muscle cars of the 60’s and 70’s.

The GeigerCars Chevrolet Camaro SS also gains suspension and wheel upgrades to finish off the exterior appearance. New eight double-spoke, custom-painted wheels are installed in a 10 x 22 fitment with 265/30 ZR 22 front and 295/25 ZR 22 rear tires for better grip. A new adjustable suspension with front and rear stabilizers helps drivers create the perfect setup for a given track or road.

While the interior may already come with an assortment of Chevrolet goodies, GiegerCars can install a few extra features to make the driving experience even more enjoyable. Customers can order special leather fittings and trim, custom sport seats with better bolstering, and new navigation and sound systems for entertainment.

The GeigerCars Chevrolet Camaro SS is currently available as an entire car starting at € 84,900 (+/- 117,000 USD). The Shelby GT500 is one of the baddest Ford Mustangs on the market, with 550 supercharged ponies shredding the rear tires. But, the American car specialists at GeigerCars had bigger plans for the GT500 that involved a golden paintjob and more potent venom.

The new Golden Snake is based on the Shelby Mustang GT500. The “stock” vehicle uses a blower to force air into the 5.4-liter V-8 engine and produce 550 horses. But, with GeigerCars, it gets even better. The new Shelby GT640 Golden Snake packs a more powerful bite, with a 2.3-liter supercharger, a stainless steel exhaust, and a software upgrade. This results in a total output of 631 horsepower (640 PS) and 582 lb-ft. of torque. The added power launches the GT640 Golden Snake to 62 mph in a screaming 3.7 seconds, while the top speed is pushed to 183 mph (295 km/h).

Although the Mustang may be considered a muscle car, it doesn’t handle like the old-school pony cars of the past. Engineers at GeigerCars have fitted a new H&R adjustable sport suspension to give drivers the ability to fine tune their handling for specific driving conditions and tracks. In addition, a new set of matte black GeigerCars wheels have been installed, measuring 8.5 x 20 at the front and 10 x 20 at the rear. New 255/35 ZR20 front and 285/30 ZR 20 rear Michelin Pilot Sport rubber has been fitted, ensuring optimum traction. But don’t worry; they can still be turned into a cloud of smoke in an empty parking lot.

While the “GT640” nameplate comes from the amount of power (in PS), the “Golden Snake” name comes from the striking exterior of the Mustang. A coat of Dead Gold paint shines during the sunset and is contrasted by black decals, stripes, and matte black wheels. A new carbon fiber hood sits naked atop the engine, and not only reduces weight, but incorporates an air channel that redirects cool air to the engine. A carbon fiber spoiler also has been fitted at the front and improves downforce and high-speed stability.

Inside, the Ford Mustang Shelby GT640 is mainly stock. The only upgrade GeigerCars installed was a high-quality sound system with EU navigation. We’ll keep that off though, this is a car we’d happily get lost in.

The Chevrolet Camaro SS is a futuristic interpretation of the original Chevy pony car. The newest-generation features edgy lines, muscular aesthetics, and a big V-8 sending power to the rear wheels. Plus, it’s not just a straight-line speeder either. GeigerCars has taken the top-model in the Camaro lineup and transformed it into a big green monster.

The new Camaro SS HP 564 is meant to be conspicuous and in-your-face. That’s why GeigerCars has covered the muscle car in a coat of striking bilious green paint. As part of the paint scheme, GeigerCars has added contrasting black stripes and black “supercharger” decals along both rear fenders. The car also gains a new set of aerodynamic parts. The kit consists of a new front spoiler lip to reduce front-end lift, a pair of side skirts, and a new rear differ-like bumper attachment.

If that doesn’t catch your eye, you’ll notice the growling engine. The stock 6.2-liter LS3 V-8 that boasts 435 horsepower has been boosted with a new supercharger system. A new stainless steel sport exhaust system reduces backpressure and unleashes a wicked exhaust note, while an optimized ECU ensures all components work in harmony. As a result, the total output reaches 564 horsepower and 488 lb-ft. of torque. Engineers have also installed a new transmission with shorter fifth and sixth gear ratios for a more exhilarating driving experience. With the new transmission and beefed up V-8 the Camaro SS HP 564 races to 62 mph in only 4.2 seconds, while the top speed is pushed back to 190 mph.

With 564 horsepower, keeping traction can be a problem. GeigerCars has fitted new in-house wheels with high-performance Pirelli tires to keep grip. But, if need be, the Camaro SS HP 564 is capable of shredding rubber. The new wheels can be fitted in a supersized 9 x 22 front and 10.5 x 22 rear fitment with 265/30 ZR22 front and 295/30 ZR 22 rear tires, or customers can option for a smaller set of 20-inch wheels. While the tires work to provide additional grip, a new KW suspension with adjustable bump and rebound damping helps to further improve handling.

Not many changes have been made to the interior, although customers do have the option for a new high-quality sound system with EU navigation.

The GeigerCars Chevrolet Camaro SS HP 564 is currently available from the German tuner as a complete car for € 88,000 (+/- 127,000 USD).

GeigerCars, the Bavarian tuning company specializing in American cars has released their aftermarket supercharger system for the new 2011 Ford Mustang GT, giving the ponycar a new weapon in the muscle car war.

The new 2011 Ford Mustang GT goes back to the good ol’ days with the big, bad 5.0-liter V-8. Named the “Coyote”, the new V-8 replaces the aging 4.6-liter in the Mustang lineup, and brings the famous “5.0” back to the Mustang lineup. The engineers at GeigerCars were anxiously awaiting the arrival of the new V-8, and were quick to develop a new supercharger system for more power. The new compressor displaces 2.3 liters and uses a screw condenser to force air at 0.5 BAR (7.25 PSI) into all eight cylinders. Power increases from 412 horsepower and 390 lb-ft. to 497 horsepower at 6,400 RPM and 468 lb-ft. of torque at 4,200 RPM. The new supercharger kit also removes the top speed limiter, pushing it back to 170 mph.

In addition to the new supercharger kit, GeigerCars also offers new wheels and chassis upgrades. Giving the Mustang a more muscular appearance are new OZ Ultraleggera lightweight wheels that measure 8.5 x 20 up front and 10 x 20 at the rear. The multi-spoke wheels wear 245/35 R 20 and 285/30 R 20 high performance directional tires that claw at the tarmac. Customers can also order a sport chassis upgrade that further improves the handling dynamics of the Ford GT.

The supercharger kit, wheels, and suspension upgrades for the Ford Mustang GT are currently available from GeigerCars. The base car starts at € 42,900 (+/- 58,000 USD), with the supercharger kit adding an additional € 12,990 (+/- 17,500 USD). The OZ wheels can be purchased for € 5,190 (+/- 7,000 USD), while the sports suspension is available for € 1,899 (+/- 2,500 USD).

When the first Corvette Grand Sports were built in 1963, they were the ultimate factory-built racers from Chevrolet. The five cars that were made were designed to take down Shelby’s Cobras and win Sebring and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. In 1996, the historic Grand Sport name was revived with the C4 Corvette with a limited production of 1,000. The Grand Sport name again found it’s way back into production with the 2010 Corvette, and sports many high-performance Z06 upgrades. The GeigerCars team in Munich thought the new Grand Sport needed more racecar-like performance.

Powering the Grand Sport is the GM LS3 6.2-liter V-8, pumping out an impressive 430 horsepower and 424 lb-ft. of torque. To up the power, GeigerCars added a 2.3-liter supercharger with a charging pressure of 0.6 BAR (8.7 PSI). With a high-pitched whine, the supercharged LS3 produces 588 horsepower and 544 lb-ft. of tire shredding torque, sending the Grand Sport to 62 mph in under 4 seconds. Top speed is drag limited to 209 mph. To handle the immense power, both fifth and sixth gears had to be overhauled, along with the installation of a dry sump oil system and differential cooler.

The Grand Sport also benefits from improved aerodynamics to accommodate the increase in performance. At the front and rear axles, the fenders have been widened and include additional vents for optimum brake cooling. A larger rear spoiler and front diffuser are borrowed from the Z06 model for better downforce. Along with the factory fender stripes, GeigerCars have also added graphics to the fenders, hood, and trunk for a more distinct appearance.

To give the Grand Sport better driving dynamics, the suspension had to be overhauled. The springs, shock absorbers, and sway bars have all been improved, while the battery was relocated to the rear for better weight distribution. The 355 mm six-piston front, and 340 mm four-piston rear brakes of the Grand Sport were also borrowed from the Z06, for better stopping power. New 18-inch front and 19-inch rear wheels wearing 275/35 ZR18 front and 325/30 ZR19 rubber at the rear provide enhanced traction and put all 588 horses to the road.

The base model Grand Sport will be available for € 66,900 (+/- 89,500 USD). For the added 588 horsepower performance upgrade, expect to shell out € 16,450 (+/- 22,000 USD), while the modified transmission ratios are an additional € 2,800 (+/-3,700 USD).

The Hummer H2 is a big, powerful American SUV that is purchased mostly as a status symbol, and rarely taking advantage of it’s off road prowess. GeigerCars however, decided to take full advantage of the H2’s off road capabilities and created a monster.

While the standard 8.5 x 20-inch chrome wheels may look beefy and powerful with the large tires, the new Mattracks 88M1-A1 rubber tracks give the H2 a commanding stance. Measuring 15.7 inches (40cm) wide and 59 inches (150cm) long, the rubber tracks allow the H2 to dominate any type of terrain it encounters. The brutish V-8 pumps out 398 brake horsepower and 423 lb-ft. of torque, powering the H2 up steep inclines with ease. The rubber tracks also give the H2 an element of fun, experienced firsthand by Autobild editor Wolfgang Blaube at a snow covered Nordschleife of Nürburgring. At the famous track Blaube proclaimed the H2 provided a “new dimension of fun.”

The matte-silver exterior has been given military aircraft livery – hence the name “Bomber”. Black lettering adorns both sides of the car, making the H2 look like a military vehicle. On the driver’s side door is a provocative picture of a black-haired woman, reminiscent of the nose art made famous on World War II bombers. The H2 “Bomber” can be ordered with an optional roof box with additional Hella lighting for visibility in harsh weather.

Inside the H2 is more refined than it’s rugged exterior. A navigation system has been fitted in case you get lost in the wilderness, while a sunroof is installed for comfort. For drives over the river and through the woods, a Kenwood DVD system with roof monitor entertains the rear seat passengers. Additionally, the H2 is equipped with a rear view camera monitor built into the rear view mirror.

Optionally, the off road juggernaut can be equipped with a LPG Autogas (Liquid Petroleum Gas) system with a 41-gallon fuel tank. Although the LPG Autogas system may not achieve greater mileage, is provides better emissions while costing roughly half as much as regular gasoline fuel.

No, that’s not the sound of your child screaming after the lime green Geiger HP 790 roars past, it’s the hellish 4.0-liter supercharger wailing as it force feeds the mighty V-8. The modified 5.4-liter uses larger throttle valves, a new air intake, revised cooling system, and revamped engine electronics to produce a fierce 790 hp at 6320 rpm with 18 psi of boost – 240 hp more than the stock Ford GT. The growl is blasted through the two 110-millimeter sport exhaust as the HP 790 bolts to 62 mph in just 3.6 seconds, and achieves a top speed of 224 mph.

A new coilover suspension has been developed to create a dynamic ride as all 790 horses power the rear wheels. New hydraulic shock absorbers feature adjustable pressure and rebound dampening for an optimum setup. Contrasting the eye-catching bright green is a set of matte black alloy wheels outlined in bright green, measuring 9” x 20” at the front and 11” x 21” at the rear. Dunlop SP Sport Maxx tires measuring 245/35 R20 cover the front wheels while 325/30 R21 tires attempt to transfer all 790 horses to the tarmac.
