<p><strong>Heffner Performance</strong> has a history of developing forced-induction performance upgrades for a variety of supercars ranging from the Dodge Viper to the Lamborghini Gallardo. After giving the <strong>Audi R8</strong> 4.2 an added boost with two turbochargers, it was only a matter of time before its more powerful <strong>V-10</strong> variant received the same treatment.</p>
<p>The <strong>Audi R8 5.2</strong> boasts an impressive 525 horsepower stock. But, that wasn’t nearly enough for Heffner Performance. Engineers developed a new bolt-on twin-turbo system with two Garrett GT35R turbochargers for the V-10.  After some fine tuning, <strong>Heffner</strong> was able to achieve a 225 horsepower increase at 6 PSI (0.41 BAR) of boost pressure. The result was a neck breaking 725 horsepower at the wheels. In addition, the Florida-based tuner can adjust the exhaust note with a variety of mufflers.</p>
<p>Heffner Performance claims this is the smoothest and most refined twin-turbocharged car that they have built to date. <em>We’ll let the gas pedal decide that one!</em></p>
<p>*The twin-turbo upgrade also comes with a 12 month/12,000 mile warranty on parts and labor for the induction system.</p>

<p>Some of the most outrageous cars have rolled off the <strong>Lamborghini</strong> factory line in Sant’Agata Bolognese, Italy. This 1,000-horsepower <strong>Heffner Performance</strong>-tuned <strong>Gallardo Spyder</strong> with <strong>COR F1 Brava</strong> wheels however, takes the cake.</p>
<p>Owned by longtime <strong>COR</strong> customer, Bill Levinson, this Gallardo Spyder hides a powerful 5.2-liter behind the cockpit. In the search for other-worldly power, Bill brought his <strong>Gallardo</strong> to the Lamborghini specialists at Heffner Performance. There, they installed their 1,000 TTG kit, fitting twin turbochargers, a new intake, exhaust, and fuel system, and upgrading the engine management system and drivetrain after a complete engine rebuild. When they were finished, the Gallardo was left with a total output of 1,000 horsepower and was capable of accelerating to 60 mph in just 3.1 seconds, 200 mph in only 21.2 seconds, and the quarter mile in 10.3 seconds at 144 mph.</p>
<p>In the search for the optimum setup that could handle such incredible power, Bill brought his Gallardo to the wheel and tire specialists at COR wheels. They fitted the Spyder with a set of F1 Brava wheels with a slick matte black finish. The one-piece forged aluminum wheels were chosen for their light weight and durability, giving Bill the ability to put every one of the 1,000 horses to the pavement. The F1 Bravas also give the Gallardo a wider stance over the stock wheels, measuring 8.5 x 20 up front and 12 x 20 at the rear. Grippy 245/30-20 and 315/25-20 Michelin Sport Cup tires help the Spyder achieve maximum traction at high speeds.</p>

<p>Taking a closer look at the intake manifold reveals two <strong>Heffner Turbo</strong> emblems. Running on 6psi of boost with an air-fuel-ratio of 11.8:1 on stock engine internals the <strong>Heffner Audi</strong> R8 generates a frightening 620 hp at the flywheel on 93-octane fuel. While the original Audi R8 transferred just 353.2 hp to the rear wheels with a Stasis exhaust and Revotech ECU tune, the Heffner Performance twin-turbocharger system produces a gain of 183 hp, resulting in 536.48 rear-wheel hp &#8211; over a 50% increase over the original R8. A 100-octane program is also in development expected to make over 600 hp   and fly through the quarter-mile in the high 10-second range.</p>
<p>Heffner Performance is also currently developing a twin-turbocharger system for the muscular Audi R8 V-10.</p>

They took the Murciélago’s 6.2-liter V-12 and added two turbochargers and created a raging bull. After spending months tuning the car, they were able to achieve just over 1,100 HP at the rear wheels with 14.5 psi of boost. Rocketing from 60-130 mph took only 5.1 seconds with a “modest” 950 RWHP, making the stock Murciélago look like a Prius, taking 9.5 seconds to complete the same sprint to 130 mph. Heffner is confident that number can be lowered to the 4-second range with more boost. There is no word yet on if Heffner will be offering neck braces as part of the package.</p>
