A British V8 storms an American race track.

Aston Martin made their racing debut at Daytona International Speedway last week as a Vantage GT4 participated in the BMW Performance 200 in the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge series. To celebrate their first appearance at the track, Aston Martin released exclusive in-car footage of the first lap.

The No.55 Multimatic Motorsports Aston Martin Vantage GT4 was piloted by Joe Foster and Scott Maxwell. The two drivers were able to achieve a respectable 16th overall place finish. Foster started the race and was able to grab the lead for some time and, with his team, was able to finish with an average speed of 81.578 mph and best lap time of 1:58.096.

Our favorite part is listening to the 4.7-liter V-8 let out a thunderous roar as it takes the lead.

There are some super cars that are in a league of their own such as the McLaren F1 and Bugatti Veyron. The new Aston Martin One-77 can also be considered as part of that class as its $1.7 million price tag is one of the highest in the industry.

Only 77 of the Aston Martin One-77 will be produced, so seeing one of these out in public is a real treat, especially when the driver stalls.

We’ve all been in that awkward position before. Driving a car and then shrug, you’re not going anywhere. So, you turn the key again, embarrassed that you, as an enthusiast, just committed a new driver mistake, and putter on your way in shame.

But, when you’re the owner/driver of a $1.7 million dollar car as shown in this latest One-77 video, and you’re caught showing it off to everyone on a crowded French street, consider yourself a future YouTube star. It probably wouldn’t have been so embarrassing for the driver had he not been showing off. Also, stalling not once, but TWICE as you’re about to turn and people are watching is like being that kid in high school that fell and dropped his lunch in the cafeteria.

Project Kahn is one of the most recognized design houses of British automobiles. The latest creation is the quintessential British convertible and just might make an appearance in the upcoming James Bond movie in 2012.

The new Kahn DB9 Volante, according to Head Designer, Afzal Kahn, is intended “to be comfortable, elegant and a powerful long-distance vehicle,” rather than an athletic sports car. The Aston Martin DB9 Volante features a soft top that can be retracted in just 17 seconds, and uses a rigid and lightweight chassis.

However, the Ferrari Bianco White Kahn Aston Martin boasts extra goodies compared to the stock DB9 Volante. The 6.0-liter V-12 roars through a Kahn sport exhaust system. The entire convertible is lowered by a Kahn sport suspension system for a better center of gravity, and a set of 20-inch RSV Kahn Matte Grey alloy wheels visually complete the exterior design. Behind the set of lightweight wheels sit contrasting red brake calipers.

Inside, the Aston Martin DB9 Volante is smooth and comfortable. Kahn has fitted quilted black leather with contrasting cream stitching and a cream-colored secondary hide to the dashboard, doors, and console. Occupants can also choose to hide from outside view thanks to dark privacy glass from Project Kahn. Other interior features include pearl grey detailing and satellite navigation.

The entire Project Kahn Aston Martin DB9 Volante is currently available as a complete car for £54,875 (+/- 86,600 USD). Project Kahn has been very tight-lipped when asked if the car will appear in the upcoming James Bond movie, stating “You’ll just have to wait for the movie to come out in November 2012 and see if this particular vehicle or any other Kahn vehicle is featured…”

Back in June, Aston Martin entered two of their V12 Zagato racecars in the 39th ADAC Nürburgring 24 Hour endurance race. Named “Zig” (green) and “Zag” (red), the two cars covered over 3,700 miles and 230 laps combined to establish themselves as contenders in the super car game.

The Aston Martin Zagato collaboration generated a great deal of excitement and hype that was only fueled by the Nürburgring race. Aston Martin returned to the Nürburgring, this time at the GP circuit and released a new Zagato video for those that can’t quite get enough of the British supercar with Italian styling.

The new Mobiado Grand 350 Aston Martin phone will be available in black, black satin, and silver designer styles. Customers can purchase the mobile phone through Mobiado’s international sales network. Pricing has not been announced.

The newest addition to the large Aston Martin racing lineup and younger sibling to the Vantage Zagato is the V12 Vantage GT3. The new racecar looks to build upon the success of the Aston Martin racing program and offer the latest racing technology to customers.

Underneath the ventilated hood of the GT3 racecar sits a modified and upgraded version of the 6.0-liter engine found in the road going Aston Martin V12 Vantage. However, the upgraded engine boasts significantly more power than the production model. The goal Aston Martin set out to achieve was 600 bhp and a hefty 516 lb-ft. of torque. The engine also sits lower in the chassis thanks to a new dry-sump oil system, allowing for proper lubrication at under intense lateral forces and better handling. Power is transferred to each of the rear wheels via carbon fiber propshaft and an Xtrac six-speed sequential semi-automatic transmission with paddle shifters.

Much of the new V12 Vantage GT3 improves upon the successful aspects of the DBRS9. The chassis is made of aluminum and composite bonded together using aerospace techniques for added stiffness. The aerodynamics has also been updated and can generate even greater amounts of downforce if needed. The wheelbase has shrunk, the engine is located at a lower point, and new racing developed ABS and traction control systems now come standard on the new racecar.

The addition of the new V12 Vantage GT3 allows Aston Martin to remain the only automotive manufacturer to have a race car available for every GT classification. The new Aston Martin V12 Vantage GT3 will undergo testing in October that includes a 10,000 km driving program. Each car will be available to customers for £298,000 (+/- 492,000 USD) with deliveries starting at the beginning of 2012.

Aston Martin has released a new video of their sexy, stunning, and sharp supercar. They took the new One-77 through the French countryside and put the pedal to the metal, unleashing a V-12 symphony that will make your ears melt.

In the video, the Aston Martin One-77 shows off its adjustable rear spoiler, 750 bhp 7.3-liter V-12, and gorgeous styling. At the end of the video you can see the One-77 close its eyes before the engine is shut down and the monster goes to sleep. Pretty neat, huh?

The Aston Martin V12 Zagato was supposed to be a special prototype model that celebrated the 50th anniversary of the DB4GT. The partnership between Aston Martin and Zagato half a century ago produced one of the most iconic racecars in Aston Martin’s history. Today the partnership has again produced an icon, but instead of being a prototype it will see a limited production run of 150 examples.

“Such style, exclusivity and fastidious craftsmanship ensures it will be one of the most highly coveted models in Aston Martin’s 98-year history,” said Dr. Ulrich Bez, Aston Martin’s Chief Executive. “A fabulous celebration of the iconic DB4GT Zagato, which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, the V12 Zagato is the perfect inspiration for the next 50 years of Aston Martin.”

The Aston Martin V12 Zagato received overwhelming praise at each of its unveilings. During the Villa D’ Este Concours event, the V12 Zagato won the Design Award in the Concepts and Prototypes class. Aston Martin has been using the Nürburgring 24 hour race as a test bed for new products for five years, and the new V12 Zagato was a perfect candidate. Two endurance racecar variants were built and pushed to their limits in the 39th ADAC Nürburgring 24 Hour endurance race, passing with flying colors as they covered over 3,700 miles and 230 laps combined.

Based on the V12 Vantage, the new Aston Martin Zagato collaboration features a handcrafted aluminum and carbon fiber body with signature Zagato hallmarks such as the double-bubble roof. Each of the aluminum panels are formed using an English wheel and traditionally crafted body bucks, allowing for a beautiful figure that could not be made using pre-formed techniques. The chassis is constructed from Aston Martin’s most dynamic aluminum platform and is powered by a 510 bhp, 420 lb-ft. 6.0-liter V-12 engine.

“The V12 Zagato is an elegant yet brutal design which reflects the great balance between race performance and pure Aston Martin style,” said Marek Reichman, Aston Martin’s Director of Design. “The original DB4GT Zagato was a true icon, powerful and graceful; the new design is a true representation of the spirit of DB4GT Zagato. The muscular organic forms define the thoroughbred nature of the car’s racing credentials.”

Aston Martin is currently accepting orders on a first come, first serve basis for the V12 Zagato. Only 150 models will be produced by hand at the Aston Martin headquarters in Gaydon, Warwickshire, with production starting in the summer of 2012. The first deliveries are scheduled to commence during the second half of 2012. The Aston Martin V12 Zagato price will be set at £330,000 GBP (+/- 528,000 USD).

Remember the miniature Aston Martin based on the Toyota iQ; the Cygnet? Well, the city car has been given a makeover by colette, the Parisian fashion authority, to make it the “ultimate Tailor-Fit solution to city living.”

The new colette Cygnet is a collaboration between the Aston Martin Works Tailored in-house personalization service and fashion icon, colette. Aston Martin’s design team worked alongside their colette counterparts to create a unique and special model.

The new Cygnet & colette car will feature many exclusive interior and exterior appointments. The exterior is fitted in a silky Lightning Silver paint and contrasted by colette blue styling details. Up front the Cygnet wears a race collection-inspired front bumper and hood livery. Blue mirror caps, blue diamond-turned wheels, and a chic “Cygnet & colette” badge set the Cygnet apart from the production models.

Under the Cygnet’s Lightning Silver coat is a swanky interior atmosphere. The entire interior was given a Bitter Chocolate color scheme after the company’s chocolate-brown Labrador mascot. Quilter leather adorns the seat and door inserts, and matches the quilted alcantara sun visors. Both of the rear seats come standard with quilted and hand-trimmed blue leather pillows. Each of the stainless-steel door handles are hand formed and engraved. Even the navigation displays a “Cygnet & colette” icon upon start up. Finishing off the interior is a special “Cygnet & colette” machined aluminum key ring with blue enameling.

“Aston Martin and colette are both cool brands that successfully blend modernity and innovation. It made perfect sense to work together and create this limited piece of automotive fashion for the city,” said Mark Reichman, Director of Design at Aston Martin. “The colette car is the first of the exclusive ‘Cygnet &’ collaborations. These cars will give Aston Martin a relevant platform to reach out to new customers in urban areas.”

The limited edition Aston Martin “Cygnet & colette” will be available for order at the colette store in Paris by the end of the year for €48,995 (+/- 70,000 USD). Only 14 models will be produced by Aston Martin. Each model will also come with candy, a Paris guide, a custom Sigg bottle, and the latest colette compilation CDs.
