Hamann Motorsport Tycoon Evo M Exposed

Hamann takes the BMW X6 M and gives it some HGH.

The latest recipient of the Hamann Motorsport treatment is BMW’s M-powered Sports Activity Coupe, the X6 M. With a brawny stance and potent engine, the Tycoon Evo M gives off a striking presence.

The Evo M looks like a beefy coupe flexing it’s muscles as it sits, just waiting to brawl in a fury of screeching tires. The muscular presence comes from the Evo M’s wide stance and powerful lightweight composite bodywork. The body of the Evo M has been widened by 60 millimeters (2.36 in.) through the use of extended fenders, while newly designed side skirts improve aerodynamics. At the front are broad air intakes highlighted by four strips of LED daytime running lights for added presence. Sporting a power bulge, the carbon fiber hood also features air vents for engine cooling. At the rear, the Hamann Motorsport Evo M has been fitted with a redesigned bumper to accommodate the large dual center exhaust. Both at the roof and trunk are two spoilers to create downforce for stability at high speeds, and strengthen the dominating presence of the Evo M.

Further accentuating the wide and stout stance are the unique light alloy wheels and suspension. The featured wheels on the Evo M are from the Unique Forged “Anodized” model line, and can be ordered in a number of sizes and finishes ranging from anodized to brushed. Measuring 11 x 23 at the front and 12 x 23 at the rear, the featured lightweight cross spoke wheels are shod in 315/25 R 23 tires. The suspension is lowered by 40 mm (1.57 in.) by progressively coiled springs at the front and a modification kit at the rear for greater balance and lowered center of gravity.

Looks mean nothing if they cannot be backed up, and the Evo M does so by squeezing even more power out of the twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V-8. A new stainless steel exhaust has been fitted, and emits a deep and forceful bark. Increased performance also comes as the result of a retuned ECU, giving the Evo M 670 horsepower at 6,000 RPM and 575 lb-ft. of torque from just 1,500 – 5,650 RPM. Power is sent to all four wheels through the six-speed automatic, and powers the Evo M to 62 mph in just 4.2 seconds. With the retuned ECU, the stock top speed of 155 mph has been removed to allow for a blisteringly fast maximum speed of 186 mph.

Inside, the Hamann BMW features a mixture of sport and luxury refinements. A 12-piece clear-coated carbon fiber trim set adorns the center console and dash, and creates a motorsport atmosphere. The three-spoke sports steering wheel features soft alcantara anthracite and clear-coated carbon for a sporty feel. Pedals and footrests in aluminum anodized match the exclusive floormat set embroidered with Hamann Motorsport logos. At night the alcantara anthracite headliner lights up with dazzling LED lighting for an elegant environment.

The mighty Hamann Tycoon Evo M is currently on sale after debuting at the 2010 Geneva International Motor Show. Pricing is expected to start north of 190,000 € excluding tax. Currently Hamann has a Monte Carlo Blue Metallic X6 Evo M with Merino Black leather for sale at 195,000 €, and can be purchased through www.hamann-motorsport.com.
