Girard-Perregaux’s Cat’s Eye Timepieces – Gift Idea for the Ladies

While we’ve never covered ladies watches on MotoringExposure, we are sure there are women who enjoy reading our content. Or perhaps this can be a gift Idea for your lovely lady.

Therefore, we’d like to bring Girard-Perregaux’s new line-up of the Cat’s Eye collection to your attention. Introduced in 2004, the oval shaped ladies timepiece has been refreshed with new dial designs and a manufacture movement.

The Cat’s Eye collection will soon be made available in pink gold and white gold and with either a white or dark mother-of-pearl dial. The case will be set with 62 diamonds of approximately 0.85 carats in total. We can almost hear you say, “Now you are talking!”.

Although we are convinced most ladies don’t care about the inside workings of a watch – whether it has a quartz movement or mechanical movement – we think it is great that Girard-Perregaux took a special interest in this decision. Girard-Perregaux caliber GP03300-0044 is a self-winding movement with a power reserve up to 46 hours. A sapphire crystal on the case back will give the wearer a nice view of the manufacture movement. The rotor of the movement has been crafted from pink gold and bears the GP-initials.

We think it is a smart move to introduce a new mechanical watch for women. Very often women’s watches are subject to fashion and get cast out after a few seasons.  We the specially crafted design and much appreciated bling,  Girard-Perregaux has ensured the Cat’s Eye design is here to stay. A clever move for which we applaud you, Girard-Perregaux!

During the SIHH 2011 in Geneva, Girard-Perregaux will present this timepiece to the public and will announce its price tag as well. Unfortunately, this means that it won’t be available in time for Christmas, but there will still be enough occasions – birthdays, wedding anniversaries and proposals – to shop for one in the new year.
