The 4th Annual 2012 Gold Coast Concours Exposed

2012 Gold Coast Concours

Where automotive enthusiasts gather to support a cause.

Blue skies were overhead, engines roared in the distance, and the smell of fuel and barbeque hung in the air, greeting all sorts of sports-, super-, and vintage cars on a warm September afternoon where Sunday afternoon football took a back seat to charity and automotive beauty.

It’s the fourth annual, 2012 Gold Coast Concours event in Glen Cove, New York, hosted by Martino Auto Concepts to benefit the Diabetes Research Institute. Since 2009, Martino Auto Concepts has been bringing a wide group of automotive enthusiasts together to benefit charities at the Long Island event.

Walking down the streets of the Glen Cove town square your senses become overwhelmed with the sheer amount of automotive beauty, power, performance, and prestige packed into the beautiful Long Island town. Aston Martins, Ferraris, Porsches, Dodge Vipers, Lamborghinis, BMWs, Audis, and virtually every other marquee lined the streets as people line up to admire the scene and support a cause.

The show was even supported by a number of companies from around the United States as fellow enthusiasts and friends came out in full to back the Diabetes Research Institute. One of the highlights was the IKON Edition RV from SportTruckRV showcasing the top-of-the-line amenities such as granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, soft leather seating, and roomy accommodations. Kai Goddard of Kai Goddard Motorsports (KGM) was also showcasing the luxurious RV and helping to promote the upcoming SportTruckRV High-Performance Driving Experience and Charity Event at Inde Motorsports Ranch on October 27th, 2012.

Since the first show began in August of 2009, Gold Coast Concours has grown rapidly, hosting more cars, attendees, vendors, and sponsors along with live bands, food, and local business owners, all to help raise money and awareness for a cause. Last year, the event raised almost $60,000 for the Diabetes Research Institute, and that record was easily broken after this year’s event with almost $100,000 being raised.

We’d also like to thank Joe Lapadula and Martino Auto Concepts for hosting and organizing the show, the City of Glen Cove, Darryl Elder of SportTruckRV for the one-of-a-kind RV experience, Kai Goddard of Kai Goddard Motorsports (KGM), and, last but not least, the Cove Delicatessen for their amazing sandwiches.
