A New Beast From The Middle East – W Motors Lykan Hypersport

Lykan Hypersport

The Lykan Hypersport supercar, unveiled at the 2013 Qatar Motor Show, is the offering from new car maker, W Motors, based in The United Arab Emirates. If you have ever needed a reason to visit Dubai, you have one now.

The car is said to produce 750 horsepower, climb to a top speed of 245 mph and sprint from 0-60 mph in 2.8 seconds. The work is done by a twin-turbocharged, horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine. The chassis and will be manufactured in Germany, assembled in Italy and provided by RUF Automotive.

W Motors is planning to build seven Hypersports for a paltry sum of $3.4 million dollars, each. For their $3.4 million, buyers will also receive a limited edition Cyrus Klepcy watch valued at $200,000 (which our Watch Editor, Robert-Jan Broer, could tell you more about) and a 24/7 concierge service.

The interior will be stitched in gold and also features an extensive use of precious stones – the customer’s choice, depending on paint color. A Virtual Holographic Display allows the well-heeled driver to control the systems with interactive motions and hand gestures. Claims of Bugatti Veyron-like performance is not only good for press, they seem necessary in this case. After all, if you have rubies and gold stitching, would you let anyone catch you? There will also be diamond-encrusted LED lights. Yes! You heard it correct, diamond encrusted!

The Lykan Hypersport. My, how the other half lives!
