The new, big fad in the automotive industry is the cute-ute, small crossover vehicle. Their smaller proportions, SUV-like ride height, and improved fuel efficiency make for a pretty popular vehicle class. Thankfully, Audi has injected some testosterone in the segment with their RS Q3 packed with a turbocharged inline-five and some sporty goodies. Now, MTM – Motoren Technik Mayer is bringing their version of the crossover to create a super-ute.
What makes the Audi RS Q3 so enticing is the 2.5-liter, turbocharged inline-five cylinder engine hiding beneath the hood packing an impressive 306 horsepower and 310 lb-ft. of torque in stock form. MTM was able to extract even more power from the five-cylinder powerplant for a whopping 424 horsepower and 413 lb-ft. of torque. This equates to a 0-62 mph acceleration time of 4.9 seconds and a 166 mph top speed. MTM also has a 504 horsepower upgrade in the works that will come with a higher top speed for even more fun.
The MTM Audi RS Q3 also comes with some other performance goodies for the chassis and body. The entire chassis rides a bit lower thanks to a KW DCC suspension setup. Beneath the fenders sit new 9.0 x 20 MTM Bitmoto wheels wearing 275/35 ZR 20 Michelin Super Velour tires. Helping counter the added power and speed capabilities of the MTM RS Q3 is a new set of MTM 380 x 34 mm brake discs. The finishing touch is a new carbon fiber diffuser at the rear.
All of the new upgrades featured on the MTM Audi RS Q3 will be available for the new RS Q3 model, while some parts can be installed on the standard Q3 models.
