The Alfa Romeo 4C is what a sports car should be. It has a low overall weight, mid-engined layout for perfect balance, strong power, and superb dynamics. The team at Pogea Racing in Germany, however, was able to take it to the next level and put above the competition with its two stages of tuning as well as other upgrades.

“We have us since the end of 2013 a lot of time taken to the standard 4C in all aspects in detail”, said owner, Eduard Pogea. “Only so we can at the end of the development phase also offer, gains in the long term tested have demonstrated that they on road and track work smoothly.”

The main focus for the Pogea Racing Alfa Romeo 4C Centurion was the 1.75-liter, turbocharged inline-four sitting behind the driver. The team developed two stages of engine tuning with software and other goodies to push the lightweight sports car even further.

Stage 1 of the 4C Centurion leads to an output of 293 horsepower and 306 lb-ft. of torque – up from the factory 240 horsepower and 260 lb-ft. of torque. In Stage 2, power grows to a whopping 313 horsepower and 321 lb-ft. of torque. That leads to some pretty quick acceleration times with 62 mph taking just 3.9 seconds to reach from rest and 124 mph coming in only 14.4 seconds. The top speed limiter is also removed as part of the upgrade and gets pushed back to 187 mph.

The Alfa Romeo 4C Centurion by Pogea Racing also benefits from some chassis goodies that help its low 2,194-lb. (US-spec) weight shine. The in-house L2-components for the front and rear allows the height and stiffness of the suspension to be adjusted to make it right at home on the track or on the road.

Pogea Racing also made sure that the Alfa Romeo 4C Centurion could slice through air. The front and rear fascias benefit from new carbon fiber applications in the form of spoilers and diffusers. Even the engine cover wears the lightweight material. At the rear, the new carbon fiber wing creates 35 lbs. of downforce at 100 mph for better stability and handling. The diffuser that sits beneath also incorporates a pair of 101 mm tailpipes in carbon fiber or stainless steel.
