The Special Edition Maserati GranCabrio Fendi

A fashionista’s Maserati.

Fendi, the Italian fashion house, was launched in 1925 and has since made its mark on the fashion industry. Maserati has teamed up with the brand to create a special edition model that showcases the design, tradition, and craftsmanship of the two companies. The new Maserati GranCabrio Fendi will walk down the runway at the upcoming 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA) in September.

The Maserati GranCabrio Fendi will be built and crafted in Modena at Maserati’s headquarters with unique materials and design cues from Silvia Venturini Fendi. The Cabriolet is dressed in a special three-layer exterior paint named Grigio Fiamma Fendi. The color is compromised of a special dark gray mixed with an iridescent gold surface finish. New 20-inch alloy wheels are worn by the special edition Maserati GranCabrio Fendi, each featuring the “double F” Fendi logo along with the two rocker panels. Behind each of the alloy wheels sit Fendi yellow brake calipers that correlate with the golden paint finish.

Inside Silvia Venturini Fendi has added a few unique styling cues that transform the interior into something special. The dashboard, gearshifter, and doors each feature a light Pergamena Fendi wood trim. Fendi’s own Cuoio Romano leather from the brand’s Selleria line was used on the gearshifter, trim of the floor mats, and instrument cluster cover. The leather also adorns the Limited Edition Travel Set of luggage and accessories. Door sills bearing the Fendi nameplate greet passengers along with the embroidered yellow Maserati badge on each headrest. Completing the interior transformation are exclusive silver oval plaques engraved with the Fendi logo, Maserati Trident, and five-digit series number located on the dashboard, in front of the passenger, and on each side of the folding black cloth roof.

The new Maserati GranCabrio Fendi will make its worldwide debut at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show in September. Each model will come along with a black car cover wearing a ton-sur-ton “double F” Fendi logo. Pricing and production numbers have not been released.
