It’s the year of the dragon in Gaydon.

Aston Martin is planning on breaking into the Asian market with China being the main focus starting this year. Part of the plan is to open 11 new dealerships in China on top of the nine already in the Asian region. The other part of the plan? Introduce special editions made just for the Chinese market to show their commitment to the region.

The British brand has unveiled three new special edition models called the “Aston Martin Dragon 88” cars and also the new “Q by Aston Martin” customization program for the entire lineup.

Only the DBS, Virage, and V8 Vantage S will bear the Aston Martin Dragon 88 designation, and be limited to just 88 cars. The limited edition brings together the dragon symbol of power, luck, and strength with the British luxury brand. Each car will wear 24-karat gold Aston Martin wing badges on the exterior and special gold-stitched dragons on the headrests, gold trim on the dashboard, and unique door sills with special edition design. The Aston Martin Dragon 88 models will be available in three colors that represent traditional Chinese art and culture.

Appearing alongside the Aston Martin Dragon 88 models in Beijing is the “Q by Aston Martin” service range. The new “Q by Aston Martin” service offers a new level of customization for the British vehicles. With the new program, each car can be custom-tailored and designed to suit a customer’s most exotic tastes with special leathers, trims, paints, accessories, and more.

Showing off the new “Q by Aston Martin” service is a Rapide model inspired by the Ming Dynasty. The exterior wears Ming Blue paint and Glacial fenders and side strakes, while the interior features Falcon Grey and Metallic Bronze leather, Ming seat stitching designs, and Walnut trunk and door trim inserts.

Three Aston Martin Dragon 88 models will be shown beside the “Q by Aston Martin Rapide” and the One-77 super car at the Beijing auto show. Only 88 of the limited edition “Dragon 88” models will be produced for the Asian market while the customization service will be available to all customers.
