Hamann Motorsports goes widebody on the new F10 BMW M5

A touch of athleticism for the super sport sedan.

Hamann Motorsports has an affinity for BMW automobiles and have been tuning them for quite some time. The German company has taken their time (and still are) with their latest creation – the widebody Hamann M5. The new upgrade program adds even more athleticism for a sedan that oozes sport from every pore to make it one of the most dynamic sedans currently on the market.

The biggest and most noticeable aspect on the new Hamann M5 is the widebody exterior. Hamann Motorsports decided that the German sports sedan needed to look sportier, so they did what any motorsport fanatics would do and widened the front and rear fenders by 50 and 60 mm, respectively. Connecting the two sets of vented fenders are bigger side skirts that help improve airflow away from the wheels. The face of the BMW M5 changed with the addition of a new front apron with LED daytime running lights and more aggressive aerodynamics. At the rear of the Hamann M5 is a new apron with exhaust outlets, carbon fiber roof spoiler, and carbon fiber trunk spoiler to generate extra downforce.

Filling in the extra space provided by the upgraded fenders are two choices of forged wheels from Hamann Motorsports. Customers can opt for the Unique Forged II ultra light wheels (shown in bronze) with a central-locking lug appearance. The Hamann M5 can also be fitted with three-piece Edition Race Anodized wheels with mirror-finished rim, titanium bolts, and anthracite-anodized face. Both wheels are installed in a 9.5J x 21 front and 12.0J x 21 rear setup with 265/30 ZR21 front and 325/25 ZR21 rear Continental Sport Contact SP5 tires for better grip. Behind each set of wheels are upgraded chassis springs that lower entire sedan by 30 mm for a better center of gravity.

The finishing touches for the super sport sedan were applied to the interior by Hamann Motorsports. The entire cabin can be refinished with fine leather in a range of colors and stitching patterns along with alcantara and piano black finishes. Customers can opt for new trim pieces in carbon fiber, metal, or a number of colored finishes to create a one-of-a-kind atmosphere. Drivers can enjoy the comfort of personalized floor mats, new aluminum foot pedals, and refinished steering wheel with Hamann badge.

Hamann Motorsports is currently working on an engine upgrade program for the 4.4-liter V-8 engine. Initial reports point to a 718 horsepower and 664 lb-ft. of torque output, making it more of a super car than a sports sedan. The package will include a new exhaust system, air filters, and ECU tune.

The Hamann Motorsports F10 BMW M5 is currently available without the engine upgrade. All of the components can be custom tailored to each customer and purchased as individual pieces. Pricing has not been released.
