German Special Customs gets Wild and Wide with the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG

Looks that back up its AMG power.

The Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG is not practical unless you want a gas-guzzling, high-powered, off-road luxury SUV. Unfortunately, these SUVs are stuck on the boulevard streets with celebrities behind the wheel and never get to reach their capabilities. Most owners probably don’t even know what the SUV is capable of, so German Special Customs created an entire upgrade program that reflects it’s potential.

The new German Special Customs G63 AMG boasts a new widebody kit and numerous carbon fiber accessories. The kit starts out with an extended bumper bar, carbon fiber grille, and integrated LED lights, up front. A new hood with carbon fiber attachments and slits help to dissipate heat from the mighty 5.5-liter V-8 engine that lies beneath. The front bodywork flows into the extended front fenders and lowered side sills that run towards the newly extended rear fenders. At the rear of the German Special Customs G63 AMG are a wider bumper bar and a carbon fiber spare wheel cover. The exterior mirrors also wear the lightweight carbon fiber material and add a subtle touch of sport.

Although the main focus for German Special Customs was the exterior design of the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG, the 5.5-liter, twin-turbocharged V-8 engine was also given a bit of attention. The German company installed a new in-house stainless steel exhaust system with valve control and trapezoidal tailpipes for improved backpressure. A new ECU software tune ups output on the V-8 to a whopping 620 horsepower for even greater acceleration.

Helping put all that power to the road, dirt, or whatever is thrown at the G63 AMG is a set of German Special Customs 23-inch forged wheels. The seven-spoke wheels were outfitted with 305/35 R23 tires.

Inside, the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG was outfitted with some interior goodies from German Special Customs. The entire cockpit was given a full red and black leather upholstery and a 320 km/h speedometer while an array of carbon fiber trim pieces add to the overall sporty character of the SUV.

The full German Special Customs Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG upgrade program is currently available as a full package or as individual accessories. Pricing has not been released.
