The Novitec Rosso Ferrari California T turns up the TURBO!

Taking advantage of Maranello’s newest turbocharged engine.

When the Ferrari California first came to the market years ago, it boasted a lot of firsts or differences from the standard high-performance models. These were both innovative and unique; it was the first Ferrari with a front-mounted V-8, direct gasoline injection, seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and folding metal roof, among others. The second-generation, Ferrari California T brought turbochargers back to Maranello and aftermarket tuners like Novitec Rosso are taking full advantage.

The new Novitec Rosso Ferrari California T upgrade program kicks up the boost with some relatively simple upgrades while sharpening up aerodynamics and handling dynamics. That all equates to more fun for the Italian drop-top.

The new twin-turbocharged 3.9-liter V-8 engine sitting up front gains a new Novitec Rosso N-Tronic plug-and-play module. The new module underwent extensive testing to find a reliable solution that pushes the engine even further with an improved throttle response. The N-Tronic module adapts to the factory engine management system and brings power up to 646 horsepower at 7,400 RPM and 631 lb-ft. at just 4,600 RPM. When paired up with the new Novitec Rosso stainless steel high-performance exhaust system with Switchtronic radio-controlled valve-flap feature, it becomes a drop-top monster.

That added power boost allows the Novitec Rosso Ferrari California T to reach 62 mph in just 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 200.7 mph (323 km/h), making it a true convertible supercar.

The other part of the Novitec Rosso equation comes in the form of aerodynamically-optimized carbon fiber body work. A new wind tunnel tested carbon fiber front spoiler reduces lift while a new carbon fiber radiator grille adds more confidence. The hood of the California T benefits from new air outlets that help dissipate heat for the twin-turbocharged engine. New clear coated carbon fiber side mirror covers, side air outlets, and side sills lend to a sportier look along each side. Even the folding roof can be outfitted with a carbon fiber skin.

At the rear, the Novitec Rosso Ferrari California T has a more dynamic and muscular look. A new carbon fiber diffuser integrates the quad exhaust outlets and features fins to improve overall high speed stability. Atop the trunk sits a subtle carbon fiber spoiler that is flanked by two carbon fiber taillight surrounds.

And the upgrades didn’t stop there. The Novitec Rosso Ferrari California T gains a new set of springs that lowers the ride height by 35 mm for a better center of gravity. To aid with the lower ride height, a hydraulic lift system raises the front axle by 40 mm to overcome obstacles and prevent damage with the push of a button.

The modified suspension is paired up with a new set of staggered Novitec Rosso NF4 monoblock forged wheels. The five double-spoke wheels measure 9.0J x 21 up front and 12.0J x 22 at the rear wearing specially-tailored Pirelli tires in 255/30 ZR21 and 315/25 ZR22 sizes.

Novitec Rosso also gives customers the ability to custom-tailor their interior with an almost limitless array of materials and colors.

The new Novitec Rosso Ferrari California T is currently available as a complete package or as individual accessories.
