The Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet often flies under the radar as an everyday luxury convertible, and its E500 variant has quite a bit of power. VAETH designed a full upgrade program for the E500 Cabriolet for those that are looking for more sport and style.
The whole VAETH tuning program for the E500 Cabriolet begins under the hood with the twin-turbocharged 4.7-liter V-8 engine. The VAETH V50RS tuning kit includes a new software tune, in-house intercooling system, and rear muffler setup. With the added upgrades the Mercedes-Benz E500 Cabriolet creates a thundering 550 horsepower and 612 lb-ft. of torque, and comes packed with a 186 mph top speed.
As an option, customers can choose a stainless steel exhaust system with dual 115 x 85 mm oval tailpipes for full volume control.
Performance also comes underneath the sheetmetal. The E500 Cabriolet was outfitted with a new set of six-piston brake calipers and 390 mm discs with steel-braided lines for unrelenting stopping power. The added size to the brakes required VAETH to install larger 8.5 x 20 wheels with 235/30 R20 tires up front and 10.0 x 20s with 275/25 R20 at the rear for proper clearance. The entire luxury convertible also sits 30 mm lower thanks to new sport springs.
Visually, a few extra pieces of carbon fiber body work were added on by VAETH to give the Mercedes-Benz E500 Cabriolet a more aggressive look without taking away from the factory design. The rear boasts a trunk-mounted spoiler while a diffuser sits beneath.
Inside, VAETH gave the E500 Cabriolet a new carbon fiber trim set, sports steering wheel, and aluminum pedals for a high-end, athletic feel.
