The Black Edition Mansory Mercedes-AMG S63 Coupe Exposed

Mansory Mercedes-AMG S63 Coupe Black Edition (1)

A Black Series for a model left without one.

The ‘Black Series’ label is reserved for only the most hardcore and capable sports cars wearing the AMG badge. They take a vehicle that’s been tuned and modified by mad scientists at AMG and push it even further before it’s strapped with the ‘Black Series’ badge. Many AMG models aren’t engineered to Black Series-spec, however Mansory is changing that a bit with their own Mercedes-AMG S63 Coupe Black Edition model, limited to just six examples.

Each Mansory Mercedes-AMG S63 Coupe Black Edition will come dressed in – you guessed it – black, with its body work made completely from carbon fiber baked the in-house autoclave. The front fascia wears a new bumper with integrated LEDs and gaping air intakes to cool the engine. A lightweight hood features special NACA vents that aid in sending fresh air to the Mansory air-cooling system.

The lightweight carbon fiber body work on the front of the Mansory Mercedes-AMG S63 Coupe Black Edition flows seamlessly into the extended front and rear fenders that widen the super car by 50 mm. New carbon fiber side skirts and mirror housings decorate the profile of the Black Edition. At the rear, a new roof spoiler works with the large rear wing spoiler to generate downforce while a diffuser-look rear bumper perfectly integrates the new exhaust tips.

The trapezoidal, stainless steel exhaust tailpipes are only part of the story for the mighty 5.5-liter, twin-turbocharged V-8 engine. The Mansory team gave the Black Edition the M1000 performance kit which includes new internals such as bearings, crankshaft, connecting rods, big-end bearings, bushings, turbochargers, compressor system, newly-designed pipe fan manifolds, and more, all working together with a software tune. The result is an astounding 985 horsepower and 1,032 lb-ft. of torque from 1,500 to 3,500 RPM. That allows the mighty Mercedes-AMG S63 Coupe Black Edition to reach 62 mph form rest in 3.2 seconds and hit an electronically-limited top speed of 186 mph.

The job of transferring all of that power to the pavement lies with the newly-installed one-piece Mansory Spider wheels measuring 22-inches in diameter. Sticky Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta tires measuring 255/30 ZR22 up front and 295/25 ZR22 at the rear can easily be turned into smoke at the hands of a power-hungry driver.

Inside, the Mansory S63 Coupe Black Edition is nothing short of what you’d expect. Elegant alcantara and leather decorate the cabin with custom stitching as illuminated door entry sill plates greet driver and passengers. Drivers can grab ahold of the new steering wheel while new aluminum pedals sit above the leather-framed floor mats with embroidered Mansory logo.

The new Mansory Mercedes-AMG S63 Coupe Black Series will be limited to just six units and be shown at the 2015 Frankfurt International Auto Show.
