TechArt Grand GT Porsche Panamera Exposed

TechArt Grand GT

A Panamera that packs all the luxury and go-fast goodies.

Since Porsche introduced the Panamera, German tuning company, TechArt, has researched, designed, and developed a number of different components for the four-door. Accessories such as the entertainment and comfort package, power kit, and Black Edition, all have contributed towards an improved driving experience for both the driver and passengers. All of the featured components however, have been featured separately on the Porsche Panamera, until now.

The new TechArt Grand GT takes all of the packages and features that the company has developed and combines them to create the ultimate tuning package from TechArt. The principals of quality and use of select high-tech materials that have made TechArt products stand out are used to elevate the TechArt Grand GT to levels of superior performance and style. Materials such as fiber-reinforced composite based on carbon, glass reinforced plastic, and PU-RIM are all used for their high strength, light weight, and stability to ensure an exceptional build quality.

The goal for the TechArt Grand GT was to create a unique and eye-catching exterior that is also functional. The most apparent display of this comes from the new front bumper. Not only is the design powerful, but it incorporates a splitter for improved downforce and larger intakes that send cool air to the intercoolers and brakes. Multifunctional LED daytime running lights are also fitted into the bumper and integrate the turn signals, parking, position, and daytime running light functions in the LED lighting unit. The new Aero hood made of carbon fiber is also functional, using air outlets to cool the engine.

To add to the powerful and eye-catching design, TechArt has given the Grand GT a broad stance. Both the front and rear fenders have been widened and allow for the front and rear tracks to be increased by 42 mm and 84 mm respectively. The widened track results in improved handling and a more muscular appearance. At the rear, TechArt has added both a roof and rear spoiler along with an integrated diffuser to increase downforce for better high-speed stability.

Three different wheels are available for customers ranging from 20 to 22 inches in size. All wheels are offered in a wide range of standard colors or can be custom matched for a stunning look. The five-spoke Formula, Formula II, and forged Formula III wheels all improve the driving dynamics and handling of the TechArt Grand GT, and are paired with high-performance tires.

Steps were taken to ensure that the TechArt Grand GT not only had exceptional power and performance, but to make the engine look like it was ready to spool up both turbochargers and burn rubber. The new TechArt engine styling kit adds some character to a potent V-8 by installing carbon fiber cylinder head covers, a TechArt logo, and red highlights. For more power, TechArt equips the 4.8-liter V-8 with the TA 070/T1 powerkit that retunes the ECU to produce 571 horsepower and 612 lb-ft of torque. TechArt also installs a new sports exhaust system that provides a thunderous V-8 melody and can be equipped with a valve control unit to adjust volume. The added upgrades help the TechArt Grand GT accelerated to 62 mph in just 3.7 seconds, reach 124 mph in 12.5 seconds, and hit a top speed of 195.7 mph.

The interior of the TechArt Grand GT holds true to the same principal of quality as the exterior, using high-quality materials to create a sensational driving experience. All leather, stitching, and trim options are custom made to customer specifications allowing for a unique interior atmosphere. For convenience, TechArt can fit a 12-volt outlet and cupholder in the rear passenger compartment. As an option, customers can also order the TechArt rear fold-away tables that give rear passengers a usable workspace. Seven-inch screens integrated into the front seatbacks are available for rear seat entertainment as well.

The TechArt Grand GT will make its world debut on November 11th to 14th at the Auto Zurich Car Show alongside the TechArt Magnum. The duo will also make their German debuts at the Essen Motor Show from November 27th to December 5th.
