Brabus SV12 R Biturbo 800 Exposed

A 217-mph luxury office.

Brabus is at it again, this time breaking two world records for the most powerful and fastest luxury sedan with an 800-horsepower, 200+ mph Mercedes Benz S-Class. But, this luxo-rocket isn’t all about sheer power and speed. The SV12 R Biturbo is a flying office that would make Steve Jobs smile.

Powerful V-12s have been in the Brabus tuning portfolio since 1992, when the company introduced a 6.9-liter with 501 brake horsepower and 524 lb-ft. of torque that was fitted in a Mercedes Benz 500E in 1993. 1996 again saw the development of a new 7.3-liter V-12 for the 574-horsepower E V12 7.3S that set a top speed record. Again, in 2010, Brabus introduced a new 6.3-liter biturbo V-12 for their newest E V12 “one of ten”. With power and top speed records in mind, that same 6.3-liter has somehow found its way into the new S-Class. We blame those crazy Brabus engineers!

Beginning as a 5.5-liter biturbo V-12 that powers the Mercedes Benz 600 models, the stock engine undergoes a complete Brabus transformation that turns it into a viscous V-12. New precision-balanced connecting rods, a special crankshaft, and larger pistons and cylinder bores increase displacement to 6.3 liters. Performance is also increased with the use of new camshafts and cylinder. In order to fit the large V-12 engine in the bay of the S-Class, a new carbon fiber air intake system was developed with new high-performance manifolds and turbochargers. To handle to task of cooling the hot air from both turbochargers, four water-to-air intercoolers are used. A stainless steel high-performance exhaust system with quad tips and sport catalytic converter is fitted and explodes with terror. All components work in harmony thanks to the retuned engine electronics with ignition and injection mapping.

The end result of feeding the V-12 massive amounts of steroids and growth hormones is a mighty 800 horsepower (788 bhp) at 5,500 RPM and 1,047 lb-ft. of torque at just 2,100 RPM. Although the engine is capable of 1,000+ lb-ft. of torque, Brabus has electronically limited the output to 811 lb-ft. for “technical reasons” , which means the drivetrain would explode and tires would last just five minutes. Sending power to the rear wheels via a reinforced five-speed automatic and optional 40-percent locking rear differential, the Brabus SV12 R Biturbo 800 speeds to 62 mph in just 3.9 seconds and reaches 124 mph in only 10.3. Top speed is electronically limited to just 217 mph, although it can, and will, be pushed further.

In order to be able to achieve a top speed record, let alone drive over 200 mph, the bodywork of the Brabus SV12 R Biturbo 800 had to be redesigned. With a wind-tunnel at their disposal, Brabus engineers set out and created bodywork that reduced both drag and lift. The front wears a new face, with a bumper and carbon fiber spoiler lip that optimizes engine and brake cooling while also reducing lift at the front axle. Brabus side skirts and widened fenders emphasize the sheer power and performance that the SV12 R Biturbo 800 is capable. At the rear, Brabus has installed a new trunk spoiler and rear bumper with quad exhaust cutouts for a clean and functional appearance. Underneath the vehicle at the rear and sides are integrated lights that are activated by keyless remote for added utility.

The top speed also comes due to new tires and wheels that are able to handle high speeds, along with a lowered suspension, and brakes capable of stopping the luxury sedan. Four different wheel designs are available, ranging from 19 to 21 inches in size. For customers wanting the biggest possible fitment, Brabus offers 9J x 21 front and 10.5J x 21 rear wheels with either Pirelli or Yokohama 265/30 ZR21 front and 295/30 ZR 21 rear tires. Handling dynamics are also further improved with an electronics module for the Active Body Control suspension that lowers the ride height by 15 mm (0.6 in). MASSIVE 12-piston front, 6-piston rear calipers mated to 15-inch vented and cross-drilled front, and 14-inch rear discs have been installed to stop the massive Brabus SV12 R Biturbo 800.

Inside, the Brabus SV12 R Biturbo 800 is a luxurious executive office packed with the latest Apple products. Each interior is custom tailored to customer specification with leather in any color, alcantara, and fine wood trim available. Integrated into the interior are a number of different Apple products that were featured in the Brabus “iBusiness” concept to create a mobile office and/or entertainment space for passengers.

The latest luxury rocketship from Brabus is currently available from the Germany-based tuning company. Pricing has not been released, but we can expect a price tag that matches the record breaking performance.
