Friday FAIL: ‘Tis the Season for More Road Rage

Friday FAIL Tampa Bay Road Rage

It’s the gift that keeps on giving for us.

As long as there’s idiot drivers with road rage, we’ll continue shaming them on Friday FAIL. It’s wrong, and you should never engage in it because really bad things can happen. Just take this act of violence just outside of Tampa Bay as an example.

On Monday, May 30th at U.S. Highway 41 near County Line Road, Abe Garcia filmed an intense road rage incident involving a Pontiac G6 and pair of motorcyclists. An argument was occurring and quickly escalated at the stoplight between the two people on the motorcycle and Robert Vance, driver of the Pontiac.

“One thing led to another and the next thing you know, this guy is trying to kill them, trying to run them over,” said Garcia.

Vance drove into and over the motorcycle with his car, knocking the two riders from the bike and onto the pavement, prior to speeding away. Eyewitnesses followed Vance and called the police, who tracked him down to his home where they found his car with a damaged tire in the trunk.

The Florida Highway Patrol charged 31-year-old Vance with leaving the scene of a crash and aggravated battery initially. Upon reviewing the evidence, he has been charged with two counts of attempted murder and his bond was pushed to $115,000.

Vance, who has been called a habitual traffic offender by police, was driving with a suspended license at the time as well.

Thankfully, both of the motorcyclists were okay and declined medical treatment.

This is just another example of why road rage NEVER pays. Vance now faces some very serious charges for his actions. It only took a few seconds to change his life forever.
