Daehler Swings for the Fences with their BMW M2 with M4 Engine!

A heart of power.

There’s no question that the BMW M2 is a thrilling sports car with dimensions that enthusiasts love compared to the ever-growing range of cars these days. BMW gave the M2 the platform, but the power just isn’t there compared to the rest of the lineup. So, the Swiss tuners at Daehler pushed the sports car to the extreme and gave it the twin-turbocharged S55 inline-six engine right from the BMW M4.

Daehler extensively modified the engine bay of the BMW M2 in order to transplant the new S55 twin-turbocharged inline-six motor from the BMW M4, and then modified that engine to create even more power. Thanks to a stainless steel exhaust, some new hardware, and software optimization, the engine produces 540 horsepower and 538 lb-ft. of torque from 2,900 to 4,900 RPM.

The shorter wheelbase and smaller dimensions coupled with the lower overall weight of the BMW M2 compared to the M4 makes this Frankenstein transplant a recipe for extreme fun. Sprinting to 62 mph from rest takes less than 4.0 seconds to complete while top speed is all the way back at 199 mph.

While the added power from the new motor is the star of the show, Daehler also made sure that the chassis could handle the new performance. The athleticism was improved upon thanks to an in-house coilover suspension with independently adjustable compression and rebound to create the perfect setup for the road or the track.

Putting the power down for the BMW M2 are new Daehler CDC1 wheels – the first ever made by the Swiss brand. Up front, the wheels measure 9.0 x 20 while the rear comes in at 10.5 x 20. As an option, customers can choose larger 21-inch sizes as well. Sitting behind the new wheels are in-house eight-piston high-performance brake calipers clenching down on huge 400 mm discs for incredible stopping power.

Visually, Daehler kept much of the stock aerodynamics save for a new front spoiler lip that helps to reduce lift. Customers that crave more downforce also have the option of installing a large rear wing spoiler as well.

If the M4 engine doesn’t suit your tastes, Daehler can modify the factory N55 BMW M2 engine with three tuning stages, culminating in 450 metric horsepower and 487 lb-ft. of torque with a top speed in excess of 186 mph. Customers can also get a Club Sports version of the BMW M2 from Daehler that transforms it into a track-spec racer with proper safety and weight reduction modifications.
