Hamann Spyridon

Illuminated with exclusivity.

The Mercedes-Benz G 65 AMG and G63 AMG models hay have a rugged off-road pedigree, but the team at Hamann Motorsport has made the SUV into an exclusive boulevard cruiser backed with a monstrous amount of power. There’s more to the new SUV than just its power however, the exterior dazzles with a special illuminated paint that glows with prestige.

The W 463 Mercedes-Benz G 65 AMG and G63 AMG models were given a unique makeover thanks to Hamann. The Pegasus logo on the front grille and rear spare wheel cover can be illuminated at the push of a button thanks to a newly developed paint that glows when exposed to a small amount of electricity. Just like the logos, a new set of LED daytime running lights shine in the dark and replace the factory blinker boxes, while fluorescent LED strips are worn by the front spoiler. The hood was replaced with a new carbon fiber unit that weighs in at a mere 7.7 lbs. (3.5 kg) and carbon fiber mirrors provide a sportier look. Each of the front and rear wheel arches were extended by a total of 80 mm to give the SUV muscle along with the new rear spoiler, apron, and integrated diffuser. A set of side skirts with integrated LED undercar lighting adds a special touch to nighttime driving.

Inside those wide wheel arches are new 24-inch forged wheels in two different styles. The team at Hamann Motorsport can install either Edition Race or Unique Forged aluminum alloy wheels in a large 24-inch diameter size and can be fitted with 305/35/24 Vredestein Ultrac SUV Sessanta tires.

Hamann Spyridon

While the Hamann Spyridon illuminates the road with style, the pair of engines offered in the AMG variants of the G-Class gain quite a bit of power from some simple upgrades. The 6.0-liter, twin-turbocharged V-12 engine gets pushed up to 702 horsepower and 811 lb-ft. of torque thanks to a new ECU tune and a new exhaust system with triple side exits and gold anodized aluminum alloy tips. For the smaller twin-turbocharged 5.5-liter V-8, output rises to 610 horsepower and 645 lb-ft. of torque.

Inside, the Hamann Spyridon wears an opulent interior littered with vibrant gold. Each of the seats and door panels wear gold-colored leather with decorative stitching along with the instrument panel. A 24-piece carbon fiber trim set adds a touch of sport while new aluminum foot pedals, an illuminated brushed stainless steel set of door entry sills, and black pearl velour floor mats with the Hamann logo add a luxurious style to the lower-half of the SUV.

The Hamann Spyridon Mercedes-Benz G 65 AMG is currently available from the German tuning company as a complete package for those that want to ditch the rugged, off-road character of the SUV. Pricing has not been released.
