Mercedes-Benz Unveils the SLS AMG GT Final Edition

Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT Final Edition

The last of the great gullwing.

Back in 2009, Mercedes-Benz and AMG made a statement in the automotive world with the revival of the Gullwing. The SLS AMG was the first car to be built completely by Mercedes-Benz and AMG and changed the face of the brand. Four years later, its production run is coming to an end with the SLS AMG GT Final Edition.

Set to be unveiled at the Tokyo and Los Angeles Motor Shows from November 20th to December 1st alongside the new S 65 AMG, the new SLS AMG GT Final Edition will be the last hoorah for the gullwing supercar. The SLS AMG GT Final Edition will utilize the same hand-built 6.2-liter AMG V-8 engine used in the updated GT variants that spits out a thundering 583 horsepower and 479 lb-ft. of torque. The supercar will also feature a number of exclusive options; however Mercedes-Benz has been a bit mum on what they are.

The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG has helped the German automaker make a statement in the supercar world and even expand its technology through electric, racing, and even Black Series variants.

“With the SLS AMG GT FINAL EDITION we are showing an ultimate, particularly attractive variant of our super sports car,” said Tobias Moers, Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes-AMG GmbH.

The new Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT Final Edition will be limited to just 350 units and be the last opportunity for customers to order the gullwing supercar before it becomes extinct. The full specifications, details, and pricing will be unveiled at a later date.
