RENM Performance Audi R8 V10 RMS Spyder Exposed

One red-hot ragtop R8.

RENM Performance has taken the Audi R8 Spyder 5.2 to another level with its new RMS tuning program that gives the convertible a more muscular appearance with motorsport-inspired V-10 power to back it up.

The Australian tuner has developed a new bodykit for the R8 Spyder that adds numerous lightweight carbon–Kevlar composite aerodynamic components. The new carbon bodywork gives the convertible a more fluid and dynamic appearance, while still improving downforce and aerodynamic properties to enhance the driving dynamics of the R8. Up front a new grille, downforce-inducing splitter, and large brake cooling chambers are fitted. At the rear, a new diffuser has been installed along with new grilles and a Lamborghini Murciélago-esque center exhaust. Downforce is generated at the rear by an integrated wing.

Giving the R8 Spyder V10 RMS a truly individual look and stance are new five double-spoke wheels along with a lowered suspension and modified ceramic brakes. Two different wheels are available: 20-inch Racelight or 19-inch Superlight rims. Both types were developed in conjunction with tech-partners ATS Leichtmetallrader, and measure 9-inches in width up front and 11-inches at the rear. The wheels are fitted with either 245/30 or 235/35 front and 305/25 or 305/30 rear race-spec tires for unmatched grip. To improve handling, RENM Performance has also installed a hydraulic height-adjustable race suspension.

Sitting behind the driver is a fierce 5.2-liter V-10 engine that produces an intoxicating exhaust note. In the search for motorsport-inspired power, RENM has installed a new lightweight center-exit exhaust, a carbon fiber air intake, and recalibrated ECU. This results in a monstrous 591 horsepower (441 kW) and beautiful V-10 exhaust note with the convertible top down.

The interior of the R8 V10 RMS has been designed to create a racecar like feel without sacrificing comfort. New carbon fiber components adorn the center console, instrument gauge, shift gate, handbrake lever, arm rests, and door trim. A complete carbon fiber steering wheel faces the driver and features contrasting red trim, behind which is a digital racecar display for the driver. Also contributing to that racecar-like feel are two lightweight racing seats with racing harnesses, grey leather, red piping, and “R8 Spyder” embroidery.

The RENM Performance Audi R8 V10 RMS Spyder is currently available from the Australian-based tuning company. Pricing has not been released.
