LaCie and Porsche Design go full-throttle with new Hard Drives

LaCie and Porsche Design have teamed up to create unique storage devices for both PC and Mac using the latest technology for full-throttle computer performance. The new LaCie Porsche Design Mobile (P’9220) and Desktop (P’9230) offer lightning-fast USB 3.0 performance in a clean aluminum design.

LaCie, one of the leading manufacturers of storage devices, and Porsche Design have been working together since 2003 to develop and design exclusive products with advanced technology. The new Porsche Design Mobile and Desktop Hard Drives utilize USB 3.0 technology that is three times faster than USB 2.0, making them the fastest hard drives on the market. Digital information is seamlessly transferred and accessed without interruption.

The exterior case of the LaCie hard drive is made from aluminum. The material was chosen for its aesthetic properties and performance benefits. The durable aluminum is strong enough to resist scratches and protect the hard drive encased in the frame. The aluminum also helps to regulate heat for improved hard drive performance and is 100 percent recyclable.

The LaCie Porsche Design Mobile Hard Drive (P’9220) will be available in 500 GB and 1TB capacities. Customers will also be able to purchase a 750 GB version through Porsche Design Stores. The LaCie Porsche Design Desktop Hard Drive (P’9230) is available in 1TB and 2TB capacities. Each hard drive comes with software to install the drive on PC or Mac computers, backup software, power-saving eco mode, password protection, and 10GB of Wuala secure online storage. The hard drives will be available through the LaCie Online Store and select retailers including Amazon, B&H, Best-Buy.com, and Micro-Center, with prices starting at $104.99.
