Endora SC-1 – the German Supercar

A retro sports car with modern performance.

Endora-Cars, the German-based automaker, has unveiled their newest set of pictures detailing the new SC-1 supercar. Based on the Chevrolet Corvette, the Endora SC-1 brings together a retro sports car design with strong performance and unmatched exclusivity.

“Attentive observers will instantly see the difference between the first sketches of the blue and golden SC-1 and the new photo-realistic renderings“, says Bjoern Marek, CEO Endora-Cars. “The new pictures show the SC-1 without partially covered rear wheels. This is our reaction to requests coming from potential customers and the media, asking to see the Endora with a more exposed wheel arch design. But there’s no need to worry for fans of the first horizontal design, the rear of the production model can be bought in both versions – giving the customer the chance to make this decision for himself.”

The Endora SC-1 was designed to after the iconic sports cars of the fifties, sixties, and early seventies from the US and Europe. Designers sought to create a retro look with a modern and contemporary appearance using styling cues borrowed from past sports cars. The front is wide and dynamic with a large central air intake and front spoiler. The hood is long and features powerful lines then swoop up into a high beltline at the rear. Each side is sculpted with a classic contrasting body panel reminiscent of 50’s sports cars such as the Corvette. The rear is distinct and powerful with its contrasting black rear and retro LED taillights. A full, curved rear windshield is another iconic styling feature similar to 1960’s American muscle. A rear diffuser with integrated back-up and fog lights completes the design.

The retro body sits atop a C6 Corvette chassis. The base SC-1 model is powered by the same 6.2-liter aluminum V-8 with 437 horsepower and 424 lb-ft. of torque as the Corvette. A more powerful Endora SC-1 is also available with 512 horsepower and 470 lb-ft. from the Z06’s 7.0-liter V-8 engine. For those that want extreme performance, a supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 model is available with 647 horsepower and 604 lb-ft. of torque. All three engines send out a monstrous roar from two side exhausts with tips ahead of the rear wheels. A six-speed manual transmission comes standard on all three variants, with a six-speed automatic with paddleshift available on the base 6.2-liter model.

Just like the C6 Corvette that it is based on the SC-1 utilizes much of the same suspension components. The suspension is made of cast aluminum upper and lower control arms, transverse mounted leaf springs, and monotube shock absorbers. Standard equipment includes 19-inch front and 20-inch rear alloy rims, an Active-Handling system, and traction control. As an option 20- and 21-inch wheels are available.

The new Endora SC-1 German supercar is still in the process of being built. A final release date and pricing have not been released.
