Hamann Motorsports Redesigns the MP4-12C with the memoR Package

Ready for the racetrack.

The McLaren MP4-12C was often criticized for its design due to the fact that it wasn’t as outrageous as its performance. So, the specialists at Hamann Motorsports decided to give the British super car a nip and a tuck so that it properly reflected the incredible power and dynamic handling capabilities that it offers.

Named the MP4-12C memoR, the new McLaren upgrade program is undeniably sporty, athletic, and muscular. The team at Hamann Motorsports had a specific set of parameters while designing the new exterior package: reduce concave surfaces; add features from the F1; add functional and aesthetic GT3 elements; and create contrasting color elements.

The transformation began with a new, motorsports-inspired front bumper with two strips of LED daytime running lights that stretch across each of the enlarged air intakes. At the bottom of the new bumper sits a spoiler in clear-coated Carbon black to help generate downforce at the front axle. The new bumper flows into the new carbon fiber fenders on the MP4-12C memoR, and feature carbon air vents to improve the overall aerodynamics and cooling properties of the super car. The front hood was then removed and replaced with a lightweight carbon fiber unit with dual air intakes.

Each side of the MP4-12C memoR is considerably more powerful thanks to the new bodywork from Hamann Motorsports. The ventilated front fenders flow into new, clear coated Carbon black side sills that extend outwards from the carbon door panels at the bottom of the super car. These sills help to redirect air into the gaping intakes at the front of each rear fender to help cool both the engine and brakes. A new pair of carbon fiber side mirrors and a roof spoiler adds even more sportiness to the upgraded bodywork.

At the rear of the MP4-12C memoR sits a large rear wing spoiler that generates a large amount of downforce at higher speeds for better stability and handling. The new wing sits atop of a redesigned apron that features an extended diffuser to ensure that the super car stays planted on the tarmac. The exhaust system has been integrated into the new rear and features three different exhaust tips that are painted red and positioned between each of the taillights.

Two different sets of wheels are also available on the MP4-12C memoR from Hamann Motorsports. On the driver’s side of the featured car are multi-piece Edition Race Anodized wheels that feature matching red lips and were installed in a 9.0 x 21 front and 12.5 x 21 rear setup with 255/30 ZR21 and 355/25 ZR21 tires. On the passenger side are Unique Forged II Anodized wheels in the same sizing setup with a faux center-locking system that hides the lug nuts.

Hamann Motorsports is currently offering the McLaren MP4-12C memoR as a complete exterior upgrade. Pricing for the kit has not been released.
