Hartge Turns up the Power on the F10 BMW M5

A little tune and it’s time for some fun!

In stock form, the new F10-generation BMW M5 is an impressive machine. Its 560 horsepower is something that would’ve been just mind-boggling just ten years ago. Heck, it still is even today. The team at Hartge however, wanted even more from the twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V-8 engine, so they made themselves a tune for the engine that brings output well past the 600 horsepower mark.

Hartge gave the BMW M5 a healthy dose of power thanks to a new engine conversion that turns it into more of a super car rather than a sports sedan. The engine conversion bumps power up from the standard 560 horsepower from 6,000 to 7,000 RPM and 502 lb-ft. of torque from 1,500 to 5,750 RPM to a whopping 642 horsepower at 6,000 RPM and 597 lb-ft. of torque at 2,950 RPM. This incredible power boost allows for the M5 to accelerate from 0-155 mph in just 20.85 seconds and go from 50-155 mph in just17.87 seconds, while reaching a higher top speed of 190 mph. Even with the boost in power, Hartge was still able to keep the M5 in the same Euro 5 Euro Code and keep the carbon dioxide emissions the same as the stock model, at 232g/km.

The new Hartge engine conversion will be available for both the F10 BMW M5 and F12/13 BMW M6 models.
