Motorsports for public roads.

Many automakers that have successful racing programs offer some kind of performance variant that brings their racing technology to the streets for the buyers. Lamborghini has recently launched their own racing series managed by the Squadra Corse in-house motorsports department. With the success of the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo series in Europe, Asia, and America, the Italian automaker wanted to bring the thrill of racing to the road with the new Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Squadra Corse.

The new Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Squadra Corse is the closest thing to a race car that you can buy from the Italian automaker. The supercar is derived from the Gallardo Super Trofeo, which is based on the Gallardo Superleggera, making it the most extreme model in the model line.

Like all racecars, “less is more” when it comes to weight with the new Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Suqadra Corse. Aluminum and carbon fiber are the two main lightweight materials used throughout the car, such as the hood and rear wing spoiler. The generous use of these and other lightweight materials allows the Gallardo LP 570-4 Squadra Corse to tip the scales at just 2,954 lbs. – 154 lbs. lighter than the Gallardo LP 560-4.

The Super Trofeo racer and the Gallardo LP 570-4 Squadra Corse both share the same 5.2-lite V-10 engine that churns out an impressive 570 horsepower at 8,000 RPM, giving the supercar a power-to-weight ratio of 5.18 lbs. per horsepower. The low overall weight, high power output, and lightning-fast six-speed e-gear paired with all-wheel drive allows the Gallardo LP 570-4 Squadra Corse to reach 62 mph in just 3.4 seconds and scream to 124 mph in 10.4 seconds while hitting a top speed of 199 mph.

The exterior of the Gallardo LP 570-4 Squadra Corse is distinctly Italian and represents the one-make Lamborghini racing series beautifully. A large matte black with body-colored rear wing and removable hood with quick-release system display the car’s racing pedigree. The Gallardo can be ordered in Giallo Midas (yellow), Bianco Monocerus (white), Grigio Thalasso (grey) and in Rosso Mars (red), with the hood, intakes, rear diffuser, and 19-inch forged wheels wearing high-gloss black. The brake calipers in the carbon ceramic system can be ordered in red, black, or yellow. True to its heritage, a green, white, and red, decal strip along the side of the Gallardo LP 570-4 Squadra Corse is worn to represent the Italian flag.

Inside is a minimalist, carbon fiber and alcantara-clad cockpit aimed at again, reducing weight. The Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Squadra Corse comes standard with pair of carbon fiber bucket seats wearing grippy alcantara (comfort seats can be ordered as an option), along with carbon fiber door panels, center console cover and middle section, handbrake frame, instrument panel trim, steering wheel bottom, door handles, and glove box handle. Alcantara is also worn throughout the interior as it covers the dashboard, steering wheel, and other components.

The new Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Squadra Corse will make its world debut at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. The Squadra Corse department of Lamborghini will be offering owners the opportunity to test drive models at various “Esperienza” events around the world and give drivers training towards racing.
