Limited Edition BMW Frozen Gray M3 Coupe Exposed

Celebrating 25 years of a motoring legend.

Born out of motorsport, the BMW M3 legacy has spanned 25 years and four generations, growing from a homologation-special 3-Series competing in the German Touring Car Championship to a white-knuckle V-8 battling in the American Le Mans Series. To celebrate the rich history of the M3, BMW has announced a limited production run of thirty Frozen Gray M3 Coupes for the 2011 model year. Identically equipped, the special-edition M3 Coupes feature an exclusive exterior paint and a unique interior color combination.

The one-of-a-kind Frozen Gray Metallic paint accentuates the M3’s muscular lines with its metallic luster. In order to obtain the special finish, a base coat of Space Gray Metallic paint is applied, and then covered with a special BMW ColorSystem silk matte clear coat. The result is a superb finish that adds to the exclusivity of the Frozen Gray M3 Coupe.

All thirty of the M3 Frozen Gray Coupes will be equipped with the 414 horsepower 4.0-liter M V-8 engine mated to BMW’s M DCT (Double Clutch Transmission). With the DCT transmission, the M3 Coupe can sprint to 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds, compared to 4.7 seconds with the manual. Additionally, each of the Coupes will be outfitted with the M3 Competition Package. The package adds a set of 19-inch wheels with a wider offset, lowers the ride height by 10 mm (0.4 in), and reprograms the Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) for a more pure driving experience.

Inside, the special-edition BMW M3 Frozen Gray Coupes will feature a unique Fox Red with Black Novillo leather interior. Adding to the sporty character of the M3 is a carbon leather trim. Both the Premium and Technology packages are included, adding features such as heated seats, navigation, enhanced premium sound system, BMW Assist with Bluetooth, and iPod and USB adapter.

Each exclusive M3 retails for $77,600 including the gas-guzzler tax, destination, and handling. Each owner will also be treated to a one-day enrollment at the BMW Performance Driving School in Spartanburg, South Carolina. For those looking to purchase one of the 2011 Frozen Gray M3 Coupes you’re out of luck. All thirty were reserved within twelve minutes.
