Going wide at Geneva.

Hamann Motorsport wanted to make an impact at the 2016 Geneva International Motor Show with their range of vehicles, and their widebody Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S did just that. The sleek crossover coupe comes packed with power under the hood and dominates the road with its widebody looks.

The new Hamann Motorsport Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S instantly grabs attention with its looks and alerts others that something special is brewing under the exposed carbon fiber hood. A large three-piece front spoiler gives the front fascia a low and wide look that blends in perfectly with the extended front (four parts) and rear fenders (six parts). These are connected by equally wide side skirts which, in total, extend the width of the SUV by nine centimeters.

At the rear, the sleek coupe lines harmonize with the flared fenders and meet at the widened rear skirt. A removable diffuser allows for drivers to use a trailer hitch if needed. Optional black or silver tailpipes can also be added and integrate perfectly into the rear fascia. The final touch is a rear wing with aluminum brackets to generate downforce.

Sitting beneath those massive fenders on the Hamann Motorsport Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S are mighty Hamann Challenge series wheels measuring 10.0J x 22 up front and 12.0J x 22 at the rear. The multi-spoke wheels are shod in 285/40 ZR22 and 325/35 ZR22 Continental Sport Contact 5P tires that meet Hamann Motorsport’s requirements for grip and performance.

Churning and burning that Continental rubber is a tuned version of the 5.5-liter, hand-built, twin-turbo AMG V-8 engine. The Mercedes-AMG GLE 63 S has 17-percent more horsepower and 18-percent more torque thanks to the Hamann Motorsport software tuning. In total, the AMG crossover coupe produces 680 horsepower and 664 lb-ft. of torque, which is good enough for a top speed of 186 mph.

While the exterior of the AMG GLE 63 S by Hamann Motorsport looks intimidating, the interior is a bit more welcoming. A wide range of high-end materials such as leather, alcantara, carbon fiber, and more can be installed throughout the cockpit in a variety of colors and finishes all to customer specification. New foot pedals and floor mats add a more exclusive touch as well.
