The Gemballa Mistrale Porsche Panamera is a Class Five Hurricane

Gemballa Mistrale Porsche Panamera Turbo

A 200-mph storm.

The Porsche Panamera is a car that brings out strong feelings in the automotive community, sometimes creating a heated discussion. The latest creation by Gemballa based on the Porsche Panamera Turbo bears the name of a wind that blows across France into the Mediterranean, sometimes causing sudden storms.

In the eye of the storm sits a twin-turbocharged 4.8-liter V-8 engine. The Gemballa Mistrale features an all-new upgrade package that utilizes new turbochargers that help boost power by 44 percent for a total of 721 horsepower and 704 lb-ft. of torque. The additional power helps send the Gemballa Porsche Panamera Turbo to 62 mph in 3.6 seconds and to a 211.27 mph top speed.

Part of what helps the Gemballa Mistrale reach Category 5 Hurricane speeds is the custom designed aerodynamic and lightweight exterior bodywork. Much of the new body work is made entirely from carbon fiber to reduce weight as much as possible down to 4,290 lbs overall. The front features a new bumper and spoiler with three large air intakes, LED daytime running lights, and side radiator ducts that supply the brakes with cool air. A new carbon fiber hood with power bulge and side vents helps to reduce temperatures in the engine bay for optimum performance. Along each side of the Gemballa Mistrale are new, sculpted door panels, side vents for the brakes, side skirts, and wider, rear fenders. A wide rear apron with carbon fiber diffuser and integrated exhaust outlets showcases the power of the upgraded Gemballa Porsche Panamera Turbo.

Gemballa also took steps to reduce weight and improve performance at the wheels. The standard set was replaced with larger and lighter wheels the provided better contact and reduced unsprung mass at the wheel hub. Gemballa chose forged, five-spoke, 22-inch alloy wheels to be installed that feature a narrow spoke design to create a more dynamic appearance. Behind the wheels sit a specially designed Brembo brake system for the Gemballa Mistrale. The system features six-piston calipers and 411 mm discs up front, and four-piston, 380 mm discs at the rear. To ensure maximum heat dissipation, the discs were grooved, vented, and cross-drilled.

The Gemballa Mistrale can be outfitted with an array of custom tailored leather and alcantara upholstery with special trim pieces and interior upgrades. All of the materials are chosen for their durability and quality, and are made to accommodate any customer request.

The Gemballa Mistrale will be limited to only 30 cars and be built to customer specifications. Pricing for the Porsche Panamera Turbo have not been announced.
