Watch the Hennessey Venom GT set a Guinness World Record

0-300 km/h in an instant.

We’ve all seen the figures and performance numbers for the Hennessey Venom GT. Quite simply; they’re hard to believe just because of the fact that they are so unreal. A 0-60 mph time of 2.7 seconds, top speed of 278 mph, and up to 1,244 bhp make us forget about the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport.

All of those figures were hard to believe until now. The team at Hennessey Performance had officials from the Guinness World Records verify their claim for being the fastest production car from 0-300 km/h (186 mph) with the Venom GT.

The first run resulted in a 13.18-second 0-300 km/h time with a 4 mph cross-quarter tailwind. The second run yielded a run of 14.08 seconds with a 6 mph cross-quarter tailwind. Guinness averaged the two times and a new world record for production car acceleration from 0-300 km/h of 13.63 seconds was achieved with the new Venom GT.

Congratulations to all of the folks at Hennessey Performance and we look forward to more records being set by the Venom GT!
